I've done both a Tineye and Google Lens search of this image and cannot find any evidence this image was published without a notice prior to 1989. In order for an image like this to stay on the Commons you have to provide proof, which the source link has zero information on the original publication date or author, and is just a web article using the photo. If this was actually a press kit/promo photo from the 80s, a copy/scan of that should be found, where it shows the lack of notice... otherwise this image needs to be deleted under COM:PCP. this & the RunDMC one I uploaded should be deleted. In my quest to improve the images in articles I misread the press kit thing and missed the “published with out prior notice of copyright” part. Apparently a lot of press kit photos are explicitly copyrighted.Ringerfan23 (talk) 19:54, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's alright, I appreciate your honesty. Copyright can be a confusing area and I understand not everyone is an expert on the subject. It has taken me a while to get a hang of licensing. I encourage to learn more about how the Commons and copyright works, I lead you to COM:SCOPE. PascalHD (talk) 00:00, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
