Description
Deutsch: Der Gedenkstein an der Grenze von Ruggell (Liechtenstein) nach Bangs (Österreich) erinnert an den 53-jährigen Schweizer Grenzwächter Andreas Flütsch, der am 16. Juli 1999 von einem mutmasslichen deutschen Waffenschmuggler erschossen wurde. Obwohl der Schmuggler bereits mit Handschellen am Dienstwagen angekettet war, gelang es ihm, die Waffe zu ergreifen. Das Funkgerät des zweiten Grenzwächters lenkte eine Kugel ab und rettete sein Leben. Er konnte den Täter niederstrecken. Das Schweizer Grenzwachtkorps wurden nach der Schiesserei mit leichten Schusswesten ausgerüstet.
