Do not change this redirect!
[edit]Do not change this redirect: changing it breaks too many pages targettig this redirect, including links used on WCommons to credit the author. This is due to the file now called File:Flag of the Vatican City (2001–2023).svg to be named File:Flag of the Vatican City.svg (this current redirect) from 2005 to 2023. Either sort out every redirect, or leave this redirect as is. Veverve (talk) 20:28, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- In most cases this name schould be linked actual flag of Vatican City. What is the meaning of the flag from 2001-2023 in such places as Sovereign-state flags in 1931, Category:Vatican City and Category:3rd-century art in the Vatican City and may others on all wikis (for example uk:Ватикан, sk:Vatikán). Therea are only a few places, where 2001-2023 flag schould be. See File:Flag of Honduras.svg (changed in 2022) or File:Flag of Belize.svg (changed in 2019). - In the two examples you took, the file was compltely overwritten which is very bad since the two versions in each case are different. Those two situations would warrant a history split. In those two examples, no one bothered to create a separate file and to take care of where the previous image was used before overwritting it, and this situation creates a huge confusion as well as a serious problem of lack of attribution. I want to avoid those kind of problems for the Vatican City flag. Veverve (talk) 19:16, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up all current usage of the redirect. The rest are either correct or certain non-distiguishable usage of the flag (e.g. in internal year category templates or system messages). Except for some talk archives which obviously should not be altered by others, and user pages which should be fixed by users themselves. —— Eric Liu(Talk) 16:17, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
