Howrah-Guwahati to get first Vande Bharat sleeper; Vaishnaw inspects ahead of launch by PM Modi
Indian Railways has readied the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train for the Howrah-Guwahati route. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the train ahead of its official launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Designed for overnight long-distance travel, the sleeper variant marks a major upgrade in passenger comfort and speed, while strengthening rail connectivity between eastern and northeastern India. The launch is expected to coincide with the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to West Bengal.
