Phalodi District is one of the six districts in the Jodhpur division of the Rajasthan state of India. This district is known for its salt industry,[3] and it is one of the hottest places in India.[4] The city of Phalodi is the administrative headquarters of the district.
History
Phalodi District was established on 7 August 2023.[5] The area was formerly part of Jodhpur District.
Early history
The Phalodi area was captured by Udai Singh of Marwar in 1562. He lost it in 1574, when Akbar granted it to Bhakharsi, son of Rawal Harraj.[6]
