So for those who don't know the story of the EV1, long story short they were lease only, and GM recalled them and had most of them crushed. There's a documentary on them called Who Killed The Electric Car. A few went to schools and such but they were not allowed to put them on the road at all. Well this particular one ended up being towed and went through a whole process where police try to find the owner etc as it got forgotten and in that process it became ownership of the scrap yard, and went to auction, and now someone actually owns it.
There's a longer video on that channel where they actually start stripping it apart and cleaning it too.
This is actually pretty incredible because this may be the only EV1 that is actually owned and not leased. The other ones that went to schools technically still belong to GM.
