Itzy (Korean: 있지) is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group is made of five members: Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna.[1] They debuted (started) in 2019 with their first single album, IT'z Different. They are known for their energetic tracks, iconic choreographies and themes of empowerment.
Concept
[change | change source]The name of the group is a reference to the Korean phrase "itji" (있지), meaning "to have".[2]
"'Itzy' means 'to have' in Korean. We have everything you guys expect in us. So, 'all in us', that's what we say all the time" ― Lia, January 16, 2023.
