Our Partners
thank you to our partners who
help keep our nation secure
ISW is deeply grateful to the individuals, corporations, and foundations whose support makes our mission possible. Their contributions enable us to provide independent, high-quality research, analysis, and mapping that strengthens national security by informing policymakers and public audiences.
Because ISW does not accept any US or foreign government funding, we maintain full independence in setting our research agenda and offering objective analysis—even and especially when it challenges existing policy or conventional wisdom. Every gift to ISW plays a vital role in ensuring ISW continues to produce the trusted insights needed to navigate today’s complex security challenges.

Critical threats project
ISW is partnered with the Critical Threats Project at the American Enterprise Institute to produce daily updates that inform national security policy through timely, relevant, and independent open-source analysis of conflicts and threats in Ukraine, the Middle East, and China in the Indo-Pacific.
Coalition Defense of Taiwan
ISW and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) established the Coalition Defense of Taiwan project in 2023 to assess Chinese campaigns against Taiwan and examine alternative strategies for the United States and its allies to deter the Chinese Communist Party’s aggression, and—if necessary—defeat the People’s Liberation Army. ISW and AEI analysts collaborate to produce long-form reports and regular updates on China’s threats to Taiwan and US allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific Theater.
