Josh Jones SEA OT
Seahawks' Josh Jones: Nursing ankle and knee injuries
2h agoJones did not participate in Tuesday's walkthrough practice due to ankle and knee injuries, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Jones presumably picked up the injuries during the Seahawks' win over the Panthers on Sunday. He has started at left tackle in each of Seattle's last two games due to the absence of Charles Cross (hamstring), the latter of whom also sat out of Tuesday's walkthrough practice. Jones will have two more opportunities to practice ahead of Saturday's NFC West tilt against the 49ers.

Charles Cross SEA OT
Seahawks' Charles Cross: DNP to open Week 18 prep
2h agoCross (hamstring) did not participate in Tuesday's walkthrough practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Cross has missed the Seahawks' last two games due to a hamstring injury he sustained against the Colts in Week 15. He is unlikely to play against the 49ers on Saturday unless he returns to practice this week, and if he were to be ruled out, then Josh Jones would likely remain as the Seahawks' starter at left tackle, though the latter also missed Tuesday's walkthrough due to ankle and knee injuries.
-
Coby Bryant SEA SAF
Seahawks' Coby Bryant: Estimated as limited Tuesday
2h agoBryant (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Bryant was unable to play in the Seahawks' win over the Panthers on Sunday due to a knee injury he sustained against the Rams in Week 16. The Seahawks hosted a walkthrough practice Tuesday, but his ability to participate in a limited capacity indicates that he is progressing in his recovery. Bryant will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation ahead of Saturday's pivotal NFC West tilt against the 49ers.
-
Rashid Shaheed SEA WR
Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Deemed limited in walkthrough Tuesday
2h agoShaheed (concussion) was estimated as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice walkthrough, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Shaheed suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's win over Carolina and is now in the league's five-step protocol. It's at least a promising sign that he was estimated as limited rather than DNP on Tuesday, though Seattle held just a walkthrough. Shaheed will need to clear protocol, including gaining clearance from an independent neurologist, to be eligible to play in Saturday's clash against San Francisco that will determine the No. 1 playoff seed in the NFC. Should Shaheed not be able to play, Cooper Kupp, Jake Bobo and Dareke Young could all see more targets on offense, and Bobo and/or Young would likely take on kick- and punt-return duties.

Akeem Davis-Gaither ARI LB
Cardinals' Akeem Davis-Gaither: Mostly quiet in loss
4h agoDavis-Gaither recorded five tackles (one solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday's 37-14 loss at Cincinnati.
Davis-Gaither trailed far behind rookie fourth-rounder Cody Simon in terms of snaps at linebacker in Week 17, logging just 40 to Simon's 74. Predictably, he also lagged behind Simon in the tackle category. He's still on the IDP radar in some formats going into a Week 18 matchup against the Rams.
-
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson ARI SAF
Cardinals' Dadrion Taylor-Demerson: Has another nice game Sunday
4h agoTaylor-Demerson recorded nine tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 37-14 loss at Cincinnati.
Taylor-Demerson's 74 defensive snaps were one short of the career-high total he posted in Week 16 versus the Falcons, and his nine tackles also represented the second-best mark of his young career. If Budda Baker (concussion) is out again in Week 18, Taylor-Demerson would profile as a good IDP option in most formats.
-
Kirby Yates LAD RP
Angels' Kirby Yates: Inks one-year deal with Angels
10h agoThe Angels signed Yates to a one-year contract Tuesday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Yates made 50 regular-season appearances for the Dodgers in 2025, posting an ugly 5.23 ERA but also a more promising 52:17 K:BB over 41.1 innings. He will turn 39 in March, but Yates still has plenty of bat-missing ability and could be in the mix to close games as part of an unsettled Angels bullpen.
-
Anthony Rendon LAA 3B
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Agrees to buyout with Angels
10h agoThe Angels and Rendon (hip) have agreed to a contract buyout that will end his tenure with the club, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
The $38 million Rendon is owed in his final year under contract will be deferred 3-to-5 years, though it's unclear exactly what the structure of the buyout will be. Rendon -- who is recovering from hip surgery -- will not officially retire but will officially remain on the Angels' roster in 2026, although he's not expected to play and will likely spend the season on the 60-day IL. The 35-year-old slashed .242/.348/.369 and never played more than 58 games during any of his five seasons with the Angels.

Coby Mayo BAL 3B
Orioles' Coby Mayo: Could be tried at other positions
14h agoOrioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said over the weekend that Mayo could play some third base and/or be tried at the corner outfield positions in 2026, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mayo came up through the minors primarily as a third baseman, but he didn't play an inning there from June on this past season. The 24-year-old has never played the outfield in pro ball. Mayo's long-term defensive home is almost surely first base, but the Orioles are overcrowded there with Pete Alonso, Samuel Basallo and Ryan Mountcastle also around. The best thing for Mayo's fantasy prospects in 2026 would be a trade to a team where he can play regularly, but for now the Orioles are keeping their options open with where he might fit onto the major-league roster.

Eric Wagaman MIA 1B
Marlins' Eric Wagaman: Loses 40-man roster spot
1d agoWagaman was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Monday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Wagaman is the roster casualty following the addition of Esteury Ruiz from the Dodgers. Wagaman slashed .250/.296/.378 with nine home runs and four steals in 514 plate appearances for the Marlins in 2025. He has some intriguing offensive traits, including strong bat speed and solid swing decisions, but Wagaman's lack of notable power (.128 ISO) in his age-27 season while playing at the bottom of the defensive spectrum made him expendable.
-
Esteury Ruiz LAD CF
Marlins' Esteury Ruiz: Shipped to Miami
1d agoThe Marlins acquired Ruiz from the Dodgers on Monday in exchange for Adriano Marrero, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Ruiz got into 19 games with the Dodgers in 2025, going 4-for-21 with one home run and four stolen bases. The 26-year-old led the American League with 67 steals in 2023, but he's managed just a .241/.296/.343 batting line over parts of four major-league seasons and is regarded as a poor defensive outfielder. Ruiz has a better chance to make the Marlins' Opening Day roster than he would have the Dodgers', but he does have minor-league options remaining.
-
Zach Eflin BAL SP
Orioles' Zach Eflin: Slated for mound session next week
1d agoEflin (back) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Jan. 6, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
It will be his first time throwing off a mound since he underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy surgery in August. Eflin -- who re-signed with the Orioles on Sunday -- has dealt with back issues off-and-on throughout his career and said he felt immediate relief after the operation. His goal is to be ready for Opening Day, but more will be known about his timetable once he's ramped up his throwing. Eflin posted a 5.93 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 50:13 K:BB across 71.1 innings for Baltimore during an injury-shortened 2025 season.

Derrick White BOS SG
Celtics' Derrick White: Logs career high in win
30m agoWhite notched 27 points (8-16 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 9-9 FT), seven rebounds, seven blocks and six assists across 36 minutes in Tuesday's 129-119 win over the Jazz.
After scoring 12 points on 5-of-16 shooting in Sunday's loss to the Trail Blazers, White bounced back with a team-high 27 points against Utah. His seven rebounds were also a team-high mark. However, the 6-foot-4 guard's biggest contribution came on the defensive end. The 31-year-old tallied a career-high seven blocks, and he has recorded multiple swats in 11 of his 31 regular-season appearances. He is the first guard and the first Celtics player in NBA history to produce that stat line, according to Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston.
-
Keyonte George UTA SG
Jazz's Keyonte George: Game-high 37 points in loss
33m agoGeorge tallied 37 points (13-24 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven assists, six rebounds and one steal over 39 minutes during the Jazz's 129-119 loss to the Celtics on Tuesday.
George was able to shake off a questionable tag due to an illness Tuesday, which didn't seem to impact him at all given his proficiency from the field. He came out firing with 23 points in the first half (including 15 in the first quarter), and his six three-pointers were a season high. The third-year pro has scored at least 31 points in two of his last three outings, and over his last nine games he has averaged 30.8 points on 49.4 percent shooting (including 45.7 percent from three), 7.0 assists, 5.2 rebounds, 4.1 threes and 1.2 steals over 36.9 minutes per game.

Tobias Harris DET PF
Pistons' Tobias Harris: Won't return Tuesday
37m agoHarris has been ruled out for the rest of Tuesday's game against the Lakers due to a left hip sprain.
Harris limped to the locker room during the first quarter of Tuesday's game, and after being evaluated by medical staff, it was determined that his injury was severe enough for him to be held out for the rest of the contest. Ronald Holland, Javonte Green and Isaiah Stewart are in line for more minutes for the rest of Tuesday's game in Harris' absence.
-
Joel Embiid PHI C
76ers' Joel Embiid: Sniffs triple-double in win
1h agoEmbiid generated 34 points (11-28 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and one steal across 38 minutes in Tuesday's 139-136 overtime win over the Grizzlies.
Embiid returned from a one-game absence due to a sprained right ankle Tuesday, racking up a team-high-tying 34 points over a season-high 38 minutes. He also grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds en route to his second double-double in 14 regular-season appearances. Additionally, Embiid set a new season-high mark in assists. While availability continues to be an issue for the star big man, he has been productive when on the hardwood of late. The 31-year-old center has scored 22 or more points in five consecutive appearances, including three outings with at least 31 points over that stretch.
-
Tobias Harris DET PF
Pistons' Tobias Harris: Leaves for locker room
1h agoHarris (undisclosed) exited to the locker room in the first quarter of Tuesday's game against the Lakers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
It's unclear why Harris headed to the locker room, though he was seen with a slight limp on his way to the back. He can be considered questionable to return until more information comes to light. If the veteran forward is unable to return, Isaiah Stewart and Ronald Holland are candidates to pick up the slack the rest of the way.
-
Ja Morant MEM PG
Grizzlies' Ja Morant: Pours in 40 points in loss
1h agoMorant tallied 40 points (16-22 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-10 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals over 34 minutes during the Grizzlies' 139-136 overtime loss to the 76ers on Tuesday.
Morant entered Tuesday's contest having dished out 17 assists over his last two outings, but he was a far more aggressive scorer against Philadelphia. He put the Grizzlies on his back with 18 points in the fourth quarter, and his six points in overtime brought him to the 40-point mark for the first time this season and 10th time in his NBA career. Morant played 34 minutes and appears to be past a left ankle sprain that caused him to miss four straight games recently. He'll have two days to rest before the Grizzlies' next game Friday against the Lakers.

Nicholas Robertson TOR LW
Maple Leafs' Nicholas Robertson: Three-game, five-point streak
11m agoRobertson delivered two assists in a 4-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday.
Opportunity is knocking for Robertson with the Leafs missing both Auston Matthews (lower body) and William Nylander (lower body) on the shelf. He's on a modest three-game, five-point streak (two goals, three assists) with 11 shots, and his ice time has increased from 9:52 to 12:54 to 14:22 on this run. Robertson has talent, and this output could be bittersweet for the young man. Any offense he shows could increase his trade value, and the Leafs are in a spot where they may be looking to load up to get back to a playoff spot. And Robertson may end up being the bait.
-
Bobby McMann TOR C
Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Six points in last six games
25m agoMcMann had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.
McMann's power-play goal stood as the winner. He has four goals, two assists and 20 shots in his last six games, and 22 points, including 13 goals, and 75 shots in 38 games overall. With a bit of luck, McMann could make a charge at 30 goals this season, including a few on the power play. And that's the hardest category to get in fantasy.
-
Nicolas Roy TOR C
Maple Leafs' Nicolas Roy: Four points in last six games
35m agoRoy scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 4-0 win over the Devils.
Roy's goal -- a tap past Jacob Markstrom's left pad -- came one second after a Leafs' power play expired. It was his fourth goal of the season (36 games). Roy isn't a regular offensive contributor, but he does have four points (two goals, two assists) to go with nine hits in his last six games. With Auston Matthews (lower body) out after taking a puck off the foot, Roy may see more opportunity short term. It will may not be enough to make him a fantasy asset at such a deep position, but the Leafs will go with hottest hand given their desperate need for points. And Roy seems to be a touch warmer than Scott Laughton right now.
-
Dougie Hamilton NJ D
Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Exits late Tuesday
1h agoHamilton was slashed on the hand late in Tuesday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
The late timing of the injury leaves it unclear if Hamilton just needed to shake it off or if he has sustained a significant issue. The Devils play again Wednesday in Columbus, so it's possible the team will provide an update prior to warmups ahead of that contest. If Hamilton can't play, Dennis Cholowski would enter the lineup.
-
Dryden Hunt CGY LW
Flames' Dryden Hunt: Collects three points for Wranglers
1h agoHunt scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Calgary's 6-5 overtime loss to Colorado on Tuesday.
Hunt is getting back in a groove with three goals and two assists over his last three games. He spent a bit of time with the Flames in November and December, and he passed through waivers to get back to the Wranglers on Dec. 19. In the AHL this year, he has eight goals, 23 points and 51 shots on net over 21 appearances.
-
Joseph Woll TOR G
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: First shutout of season
1h agoWoll made 33 saves in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.
Woll dazzled several times, in particular a miraculous reach-back with his stick to pull a sure goal off the line following a stuff attempt by Nico Hischier late in the second period. It preserved the score at 2-2. It was Woll's first shutout of the season and third of his career. Woll has had a strong December with six wins against just one loss and 15 goals allowed (.926) in seven starts. Anthony Stolarz (upper body) remains out indefinitely, and the Leafs have alternated Woll and Dennis Hildeby, who has gone 1-3-3 (21 goals, .901) in the same number of starts. At some point, it seems likely the Leafs will turn to Woll a bit more often given the team's need to win.
