  • Reds' Yunior Marte: Signs with Reds

Marte signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

After turning in a 6.92 ERA and 1.88 WHIP across 26 innings with the Phillies in 2024, Marte left the U.S. and signed with the Chunichi Dragons of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. The 30-year-old reliever succeeded in reviving his career by ending the 2025 NPB season with a 1.95 ERA over 32.1 frames, and he'll now get another chance to prove himself worthy of an MLB roster spot during spring training.

  • Reds' Lyon Richardson: Pushed off 40-man

The Reds designated Richardson for assignment Saturday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Following the Reds' acquisition of outfielder Dane Myers (knee) from Miami on Saturday, Richardson will end up as the roster casualty necessary to create space on the 40-man. The 25-year-old reliever finished 2025 with a 4.54 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 30:21 K:BB across 37.2 regular-season innings. However, his 4.06 FIP indicates that he performed slightly better than what his base stats suggest, and there's a chance another team in need of bullpen depth claims the right-hander off waivers.

  • Reds' Dane Myers: Traded to Reds

The Marlins traded Myers (knee) to the Reds on Saturday in exchange for Ethan O'Donnell.

After signing JJ Bleday to a one-year deal earlier Saturday, the Reds will continue to bolster their outfield unit by bringing in Myers. The 29-year-old received his first extended look in the majors in 2025 and slashed .235/.291/.326 with six homers, 31 RBI, 29 runs scored and 18 steals across 333 plate appearances. His right-handed bat and career .816 OPS against southpaws may enable him to work in the short side of a platoon in the Reds' outfield. Otherwise, he'll provide depth to the big-league bench or head down to Triple-A Louisville.

  • Reds' Keegan Thompson: Designated for assignment

The Reds designated Thompson for assignment Saturday.

Thompson signed a major-league contract with the Reds in November, but he'll now be kicked off the 40-man roster to make room for JJ Bleday. The 30-year-old Thompson owns a 3.64 ERA across his MLB career but spent the entire 2025 campaign with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate, posting a 4.43 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over 65 innings.

  • Reds' JJ Bleday: Headed to Cincy

Bleday signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Reds on Saturday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Bleday was let go by the Athletics earlier this offseason after slashing .212/.294/.404 with 14 homers, 39 RBI and 48 RBI across 344 MLB plate appearances in 2025. The 28-year-old slugger will provide the Reds with another left-handed bat in the outfield alongside Will Benson and TJ Friedl, but there's no guarantee that Bleday will get to start regularly against right-handed pitchers.

  • Reds' Michael Chavis: Signs minors deal with Reds

Chavis signed a minor-league contract with the Reds on Wednesday that includes an invitation to big-league spring training, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.

Chavis spent the entirety of 2025 with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate, slashing .291/.350/.547 with 13 homers, 45 RBI and 45 runs scored across 283 plate appearances. The 30-year-old infielder will get a chance to compete for a roster spot during spring camp, but he'll most likely return to the minors to begin the '26 campaign.

  • Reds' Caleb Ferguson: Nabs one-year deal from Reds

The Reds signed Ferguson to a one-year contract Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Ferguson made 70 regular-season appearances in 2025 between the Pirates and Mariners, posting a 3.58 ERA and 51:22 K:BB over 65.1 innings. The southpaw held left-handed hitters to a .184/.261/.204 batting line, so Ferguson should be leaned on heavily by manager Terry Francona in 2026 when the opposition has lefties due up.

  • Reds' Will Banfield: Re-ups with Cincinnati

The Reds re-signed Banfield to a minor-league contract Dec. 2.

Banfield was non-tendered by the Reds in November but wound up returning to the organization on a minor-league pact. The 26-year-old catcher went 1-for-10 with six strikeouts during a cup of coffee with the Reds and will provide depth behind the plate at Triple-A Louisville.

  • Reds' Emilio Pagan: Back with Reds

Pagan signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Reds on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Pagan thrived as the Reds' primary closer this past season, posting a 2.88 ERA and 0.92 WHIP alongside an 81:22 K:BB across 68.2 innings while converting a career-high 32 saves during the regular season. Assuming the Reds don't make another move for a high-leverage reliever, the 31-year-old righty will presumably maintain his hold on ninth-inning duties for Cincinnati.

  • Reds' Carson Spiers: Back with Reds as NRI

The Reds re-signed Spiers (elbow) to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Monday.

Spiers was non-tendered by Cincinnati last week, but he'll remain in the organization on a minor-league pact. The right-hander is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season after having Tommy John surgery in late July, so it's likely a two-year minor-league contract.

  • Reds' Sam Moll: Settles with Cincinnati

The Reds and Moll avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $875,000 contract, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

He'll have a chance to earn an additional $150,000 in incentives. Moll split his time between the Reds and Triple-A Louisville in 2025, posting a 6.38 ERA and 22:10 K:BB over 18.1 frames with the big club. The lefty reliever does not have minor-league options remaining, so he would have to pass through waivers in order to be sent down.
