Wizards' Malaki Branham: Iffy for Wednesday
Branham is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bucks due to right calf soreness.
Branham could test out his calf during Wednesday's pregame warmups before the Wizards decide whether he'll be available for action. The guard has played at least 20 minutes just once in his last five appearances, so his status may not have a significant impact on the Washington rotation.

After missing the second leg of Washington's back-to-back set Monday against the Suns, Middleton is no longer appearing on the injury report. Over his last four appearances, the veteran forward has averaged 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per tilt.

George is out for Wednesday's game against the Bucks due to a left hip flexor strain.
Wednesday will mark a fourth consecutive absence for George, whose next chance to play arrives Friday against the Nets. His absence should allow each of Bub Carrington, Tre Johnson and perhaps even Justin Champagnie to maintain streaming appeal.

Wizards' CJ McCollum: Notches 17 points in loss
McCollum closed with 17 points (6-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 115-101 loss to the Suns.
This wasn't McCollum's best offensive effort, but he was terrific defensively with four combined steals and blocks. Through 31 regular-season appearances, McCollum holds averages of 18.6 points, 3.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 2.7 three-pointers.

Wizards' Marvin Bagley: Notches seven points
Bagley ended Monday's 115-101 loss to the Suns with seven points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks over 22 minutes.
Alex Sarr had a nightmare showing in 25 minutes, while Bagley had a much better outing this time around. Sarr is the future of the center spot in Washington, so despite this dud, the Wizards will give him every opportunity to keep developing. Bagley remains one of the better backup centers in the NBA currently.

Wizards' Will Riley: Tallies 10 points off bench
Riley amassed 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes during Monday's 115-101 loss to the Suns.
Riley contributed across the board and was one of three bench players to score in double digits. This was a nice response from the rookie forward, who was held scoreless across 19 minutes Sunday against Memphis. Riley is averaging 7.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.2 minutes over 11 December appearances, and there should continue to be minutes available as Washington periodically rests Khris Middleton.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Perfect from downtown
Johnson notched 24 points (9-12 FG, 5-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 115-101 loss to Phoenix.
Johnson did a good chunk of his scoring from beyond the arc Monday, but he received little help from his teammates. He drained a season-high five triples and led the Wizards in scoring, taking full advantage of his opportunity as a starter while Kyshawn George recovers from a hip injury.

Watkins is part of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Suns.
With Washington giving Khris Middleton the night off Monday, Watkins gets the call to the first unit. It'll be the second start of the campaign for Watkins, who logged 18 minutes during the Dec. 4 loss to Boston in his first turn with the first unit.

Wizards' Alex Sarr: To remain limited Monday
Head coach Brian Keefe said pregame that Sarr (adductor) will remain on an unspecified minutes restriction in Monday's matchup against the Suns, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
Sarr has appeared in five of Washington's last six outings following a six-game absence due to a right adductor strain, though he has yet to log more than 26 minutes since returning from the extended absence. He has averaged 15.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.8 assists across 25.0 minutes per contest in those five appearances.

Johnson (hip) will remain on a minutes restriction in Monday's game against Phoenix, Josh Robbins of The Athleticreports.
Johnson logged 26 minutes during Sunday's tilt against Memphis, which was his highest total since returning from an extended absence with a hip injury. The rookie first-rounder has averaged 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.2 minutes per contest in his last eight appearances, and it doesn't sound like he's ready to clear the 30-minute marker yet.

Despite being held scoreless, Riley has another opportunity for minutes in Monday's game against the Suns in the absences of the resting Khris Middleton, Kyshawn George (hip) and Corey Kispert (hamstring). However, Riley hasn't scored in double figures since the Dec. 14 win in Indiana.

Since Dec. 1, Champagnie has averaged 8.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 threes, 0.9 blocks and 0.8 steals over 22.6 minutes per game.

Coulibaly recorded 14 points (6-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks over 29 minutes during the Wizards' 116-112 win over the Grizzlies on Sunday.
Coulibaly finished third on the Wizards in rebounds behind Alex Sarr (nine) and Justin Champagnie (12), and Coulibaly tied a season high with three steals. The third-year pro from France has had an up-and-down 2025-26 campaign, largely in part due to injuries disrupting any momentum. However, Coulibaly has logged at least 14 points in each of his last three games, and over that span, he has averaged 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 threes, 2.0 steals and 1.3 blocks over 26.0 minutes per game.
