  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Set to start Tuesday

Knight will patrol the home crease against the Islanders on Tuesday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.

Knight has lost his last five outings while allowing 15 goals on 121 shots. He has a 10-11-5 record this season with two shutouts, a 2.65 GAA and a .910 save percentage through 26 appearances. The Islanders sit 24th in the league with 2.77 goals per game this year.

  • Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Sent to AHL

Toninato was assigned to AHL Rockford on Monday.

Toninato has one assist, six shots on goal and 10 hits in five NHL appearances this season. He also has five goals and 17 points over 24 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Blackhawks' Ilya Mikheyev: Back at practice

Mikheyev (personal) participated in Monday's practice, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

As expected, Mikheyev should be available to play against the Islanders on Tuesday after missing the last two games due to the birth of his child. The 31-year-old Mikheyev has picked up six goals, 10 points, 61 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 17 hits across 34 outings this season.

  • Blackhawks' Sam Lafferty: Ends drought with assist

Lafferty posted an assist and four hits in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Lafferty snapped an 11-game drought with a helper on Nick Foligno's second-period tally. This was Lafferty's fourth straight game in the lineup, and it's a positive that he stayed in over Dominic Toninato even with Foligno returning from a hand injury. Lafferty is now at two points, six shots on net, 20 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 17 outings this season.

  • Blackhawks' Wyatt Kaiser: Tallies in Sunday's loss

Kaiser scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Kaiser continues to chip in offense from a bottom-four role on the blue line. He has three goals and an assist over his last eight games. For the season, the 23-year-old blueliner is at four goals, a career-high nine points, 40 shots on net, 38 blocked shots, 25 hits, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 38 appearances.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Foligno: Pots goal in return

Foligno scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Foligno missed 19 games due to a hand injury before stepping back into the lineup Sunday. He logged 13:02 of ice time in this loss, and he'll likely be set for bottom-six minutes on the wing even with the Blackhawks thin at center until Connor Bedard (upper body) and Frank Nazar (upper body) come back. Foligno can add some grit for fantasy managers, but he's risky to count on for offense. He's at one goal, six assists, 19 shots on net, 43 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 16 appearances this season.

  • Blackhawks' Tyler Bertuzzi: Tallies again in loss

Bertuzzi scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Bertuzzi has come out of the holiday break hot with three goals over his last two games. The 30-year-old will need to continue carrying the offense in the absences of Connor Bedard (upper body) and Frank Nazar (upper body). Bertuzzi can be streaky, but he's up to 19 goals, 29 points, 73 shots on net, 31 hits and a minus-10 rating through 35 appearances this season while playing in the top six and on the first power-play unit.

  • Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Makes relief appearance

Soderblom allowed three goals on 15 shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Soderblom was used in relief, entering at 12:03 of the first period after Spencer Knight allowed four goals. Soderblom stayed in for the second but returned to the bench for the third, likely to rest after posting a shootout win over the Stars on Saturday in addition to his 27:57 of action Sunday. The 26-year-old remains at 4-7-1 with a 4.02 GAA and an .873 save percentage in 13 appearances. He's allowed at least three goals in seven straight outings, so he's not in a great position to challenge the struggling Knight for starts. The Blackhawks host the Islanders on Tuesday for their next game.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Rough first period

Knight allowed four goals on nine shots in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Penguins.

Knight gave up four goals in the first 12:03 of the contest. Arvid Soderblom finished the first period and played all of the second, but Knight returned to the crease in the third to close things out. The loss ended up with Knight since the Blackhawks weren't able to cover his initial damage. It was his fifth regulation loss in a row, but this was by far his worst performance in that stretch. For the season, he's at a 10-11-5 record with a 2.65 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 26 starts. The Blackhawks' next game is Tuesday at home versus the Islanders.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Set to start Sunday

Knight will be between the home pipes against the Penguins on Sunday, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Knight has lost four consecutive games in regulation, posting a 2.81 GAA and a .902 save percentage during that stretch. The Penguins have struggled lately, as they have dropped nine of their last 10 games. This matchup is the second half of a back-to-back for Chicago, while this will be the first game for the Penguins out of the holiday break.

  • Blackhawks' Ilya Mikheyev: Unavailable Sunday

Mikheyev (personal) won't play against Pittsburgh on Sunday, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Mikheyev will miss his second straight game following the birth of his baby. However, the 31-year-old Mikheyev could be available to return against the Islanders on Tuesday. He has generated six goals, 10 points, 61 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 17 hits across 34 outings this season.

  • Blackhawks' Jack Pridham: Posts hat trick Sunday

Pridham scored three goals on 11 shots in OHL Kitchener's 5-3 win over Erie on Sunday.

Pridham picked up his second hat trick in the last four games to lead the way for Kitchener in this win. He's up to 20 goals and 38 points through 33 appearances this season, a pace nearly identical to last year's 27-goal, 54-point effort in 48 regular-season outings. A little growth would be nice, but the Blackhawks prospect is still making his presence felt on offense.

  • Blackhawks' Frank Nazar: Moves to IR

Nazar (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve by the Blackhawks, the team announced Sunday.

Nazar has been out since Dec. 20 after suffering an injury in a game against the Senators. The 21-year-old's placement on injured reserve is retroactive to Dec. 20 and has no effect on his timeline for a return, which is expected to take about a month. Nick Foligno was activated from injured reserve in a subsequent move. Nazar has 21 points in 33 games this year.

  • Blackhawks' Nick Foligno: Removed from IR

Foligno (hand) was activated from injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Following a 19-game absence, Foligno appears to be available to return to the lineup against Pittsburgh on Sunday. He has contributed six assists, 16 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 41 hits through 15 appearances this season.

  • Blackhawks' Sam Lafferty: Slumping in part-time role

Lafferty has failed to record a point in his last 11 appearances after going scoreless with two shots on net and two hits in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Stars.

Lafferty has been scratched nine times during his slump, though he has played in six of the Blackhawks' last 10 games. The 30-year-old has mostly filled a fourth-line role when he plays, which limits his scoring potential. He's at one goal, five shots on net, 16 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 16 outings this season. Lafferty is a non-factor in fantasy as long as his usage remains limited.

  • Blackhawks' Connor Murphy: Ends slump with helper

Murphy posted an assist, three blocked shots and two PIM in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Stars.

Murphy's helper ended a 22-game point drought for the defenseman. He has seen steady usage on the third pairing this season, but his offense is virtually nonexistent, as he's filling a heavily defensive role to shelter the Blackhawks' younger blueliners. Murphy is at four assists, 33 shots on net, 32 PIM, 37 hits, 53 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 37 appearances.

  • Blackhawks' Alex Vlasic: Bags pair of apples

Vlasic notched two assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Stars.

Vlasic has three helpers over his last three games. The 24-year-old defenseman is firmly in a top-four role at even strength, though he remains out of the power-play mix. He's up to eight points, 34 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 36 outings. Vlasic can be a decent source of defensive stats, but don't count on him for offense just yet, even though he's starting to trend in the right direction.

... See More ... See Less
  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Scores in Saturday's shootout win

Dickinson scored a goal, added four hits and went plus-3 in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Stars.

Dickinson has scored twice over the last five contests. The 30-year-old is filling in as the top-line center for now while Connor Bedard (upper body) and Frank Nazar (upper body) are out. Dickinson is more of a defensive center, as evidenced by his seven points in 24 outings this season. He's added 32 shots on net, 28 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating, but his offense could get a boost while he's in a more prominent role.
