Mateychuk extended his point streak to four games (one goal, four assists). The goal was his first since Dec. 1 versus the Devils. The 21-year-old blueliner continues to grow into a top-four role, and he's seen increased power-play time since Zach Werenski (lower body) exited the lineup. Mateychuk is at seven goals, 17 points, 43 shots on net, 57 blocked shots and 19 hits through 37 appearances in his first full NHL campaign.

Marchenko has four goals and 12 shots over his last three games. The veteran blueliner blasted a one-timer past Leevi Merilainen early in the second period for his first GWG of the season. Severson has gotten onto the scoresheet in four straight games as he ends 2025 on a high note, producing a goal and six points during that hot streak with eight shots on net, six blocked shots, six PIM, three hits and a plus-3 rating.

However, Greaves didn't let the disrupted game-day routine bother him as he won his third straight start. The 24-year-old netminder hasn't allowed more than three goals in any of his nine December outings, and his 2.20 GAA and .923 save percentage on the month aren't reflected in his 4-5-0 record.

Smith (lower body) didn't finish Monday's game in Ottawa after leaving in the third period without putting weight on his right leg, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
