Top Penguins News

  • Penguins' Connor Dewar: Available Tuesday

Dewar (undisclosed) will be an option for Tuesday's home matchup against Carolina, according to Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.

Dewar departed Monday's practice early due to an injury, but he's seemingly no worse for wear ahead of Tuesday's contest. The Manitoba native has contributed six goals, 12 points, 69 hits and 55 shots on net over 37 appearances in 2025-26.

  • Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Tending twine against Carolina

Skinner will get the home start against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, per Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.

Skinner has struggled since being dealt to the Penguins, posting a record of 0-3-0 with a 4.18 GAA and an .831 save percentage across three appearances. He has allowed at least three goals in all three of his outings with Pittsburgh. The Hurricanes are on the second half of a back-to-back, having defeated the Rangers on Monday in overtime by a 3-2 score, while the Penguins have been off since Sunday.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Moves past illness

Karlsson (illness) is available for Tuesday's home game against the Hurricanes, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.

Karlsson didn't practice Monday due to an illness, but he'll avoid missing his first game of the season Tuesday. The right-shot blueliner should assume his usual duties on the No. 1 pairing while seeing time with the man advantage against Carolina.

  • Penguins' Bill Zonnon: Earns two points

Zonnon scored a goal and added an assist in QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand's 5-4 shootout loss to Sherbrooke.

Zonnon was sidelined to start the season, and he sustained another injury in November. The forward has been back for two games, and he's played in just four so far this season, earning three points. The Penguins prospect should be a big boost for the Armada's offense, assuming he can stay healthy the rest of the way.

  • Penguins' Ryan Graves: Will be waived

Graves will be waived Tuesday for the purposes of sending him to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, per Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.

Graves has one point (a goal) in 17 appearances with Pittsburgh this season and has spent the past six games as a healthy scratch. The Penguins are trying to move him to the minors because they need a roster spot after acquiring Yegor Chinakhov from Columbus.

  • Penguins' Yegor Chinakhov: Traded Monday

Chinakhov was acquired by Pittsburgh from Columbus on Monday in exchange for Danton Heinen, a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 third-round selection.

Chinakhov had three goals, six points, six PIM, 36 shots and 28 hits in 29 appearances with Columbus in 2025-26 before the trade. He was averaging just 10:18 of ice time, which was down from 15:43 during the 2024-25 regular season. Chinakhov should get a chance to play a bigger role in Pittsburgh, which might boost his offensive production. The 24-year-old set career highs during the 2023-24 regular season with 16 goals and 29 points in 53 outings, which is the kind of offensive pace Pittsburgh might get out of him if the Penguins prove to be a great fit.

  • Penguins' Connor Dewar: Exits practice early

Dewar (undisclosed) left Monday's practice before its conclusion, per Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports.

Dewar has six goals, 12 points, 55 shots and 69 hits in 37 appearances this season. There was no update regarding his status after practice, but if Dewar can't play Tuesday versus Carolina, then Kevin Hayes will probably draw back into the lineup.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Dealing with illness

Karlsson will miss Monday's practice because of an illness.

Karlsson has three goals and 26 points in 37 outings this season. If he can't play Tuesday versus Carolina, then Connor Clifton might draw into the lineup. Karlsson's absence would also probably bump Kris Letang up to the top power-play unit.

  • Penguins' Jack St. Ivany: Garners first two assists of season

St. Ivany notched two assists, four shots on goal, five hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

St. Ivany has played in five of the Penguins' last six games, and it appears he has supplanted Connor Clifton, at least temporarily, for a third-pairing job. The pair of helpers Sunday accounted for St. Ivany's first points of the year. He's added nine shots on net, 18 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through five appearances. This was his first career multi-point effort, but his role makes it unlikely the 26-year-old blueliner will have much of an impact in fantasy.

  • Penguins' Blake Lizotte: Deals two helpers in win

Lizotte logged two assists in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Lizotte saw 15:18 of ice time in the blowout win. The 28-year-old forward was playing for the first time since Dec. 7 -- he missed nine games due to an upper-body injury. Lizotte should be good to handle a bottom-six role after this performance. He's racked up seven points, 31 shots on net, 25 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 28 contests this season.

  • Penguins' Ryan Shea: Distributes three helpers

Shea logged three assists, four blocked shots, two hits and a plus-5 rating in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Shea matched his offensive output from the last 14 games combined. He helped out on goals by Anthony Mantha, Bryan Rust and Justin Brazeau in this blowout win. Shea was a top-four regular earlier in the season, but Brett Kulak's arrival via trade from the Oilers has eaten into Shea's minutes. This is still a career year for Shea, who has two goals, 14 helpers, 32 shots on net, 48 blocked shots, 20 hits and a plus-14 rating over 37 appearances.

  • Penguins' Noel Acciari: Pads lead with goal

Acciari scored a goal on two shots and added five PIM in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Acciari fought Connor Murphy late in the first period before adding a goal in the second. The 34-year-old Acciari continues to be a staple on the Penguins' fourth line, though he's also chipped in two goals over his last three outings. The forward is at three goals, eight points, 23 shots on net, 17 PIM, 33 hits and 17 blocked shots through 24 appearances this season. While he's on pace for his best season in a Penguins sweater, he's unlikely to come anywhere near his career highs of 20 goals and 27 points from 66 regular-season games in 2019-20 with the Panthers.

  • Penguins' Anthony Mantha: One of each Sunday

Mantha scored a goal on two shots and added two assists in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Mantha has scored in his last two games, and he has three goals and five helpers over his last eight outings, featuring a trio of multi-point efforts. The 31-year-old winger is up to 12 goals, 25 points, 68 shots on net and a plus-6 rating over 37 appearances this season. He's on pace for the first 50-point campaign of his career and should continue to receive top-six minutes with power-play time.

... See More ... See Less
  • Penguins' Bryan Rust: Nets two goals in win

Rust scored twice, blocked two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Rust picked up his first multi-point effort since Dec. 13 versus the Sharks. The 33-year-old winger netted both of his goals in the first period as the Penguins jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes. Rust is up to 15 goals, 32 points, 90 shots on net, 37 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 35 appearances this season. He should continue to be one of the Penguins' most productive forwards as he aims to top the career-best 31-goal, 65-point regular season he had in 2024-25.

... See More ... See Less
  • Penguins' Justin Brazeau: Hat trick in blowout win

Brazeau scored three goals in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Brazeau's second goal came on the power play. The 27-year-old's consistency from earlier in the season has evaporated, but he has a pair of multi-goal efforts over his last seven outings. Brazeau is up to 11 goals, matching his total from 76 regular-season contests last year. He's recorded 18 points, 39 shots on net, 39 hits and a plus-3 rating through 23 appearances while primarily playing on the second line.

... See More ... See Less
  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Cruises to win

Silovs stopped 21 of 24 shots in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Silovs was spotted a four-goal lead after the first period, and that was enough. The 24-year-old has won his last two outings despite allowing six goals on 49 shots in that span. He's up to a 6-5-6 record with a 3.21 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 17 appearances. Silovs and Stuart Skinner are currently alternating starts, so it's likely to be Skinner between the pipes for Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes.

  • Penguins' Rafael Harvey-Pinard: Earns three points for WBS

Harvey-Pinard scored twice and added an assist in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 4-3 shootout loss to Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Harvey-Pinard led the Baby Pens' offense in regulation, but his effort wasn't enough. The veteran forward has seven goals and seven assists over 29 appearances this season, and this was his first multi-point effort in a month. With the Penguins going younger at the NHL level, Harvey-Pinard hasn't gotten a chance with the big club since signing a two-way deal in July.

  • Penguins' Danton Heinen: Hits waivers

Heinen will be placed on waivers by the Penguins, the team announced Sunday.

Heinen's departure from the roster coincides with the return of Blake Lizotte from injured reserve. The 30-year-old Heinen has notched just two points in 13 NHL games this year while averaging 11:40 of ice time per night. If he goes unclaimed, Heinen would report to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 12 games.
