Honoring the Wild: Reclaiming Witchcraft and Environmental Activism

Rate this book
Deeply rooted in environmentalism and activism, Honoring the Wild answers crucially pertinent questions while driving at lasting change. From political demonstrations to personal calls, Irisanya Moon offers a collection of stories and lessons, as told by Reclaiming Witches from around the world, about the facts and fears, the confessions and collaborations within the Reclaiming tradition's own timeline of activism. Honoring the Wild inspires and informs creativity and purpose while reminding us of all that has come and of all that is left to do. May the wild be blessed and healed by this spell of intention and inspiration.

2.5, rounding up. This is a collection of short pieces - mostly first-person narratives of authors' experiences - focused on their engagement (or not) with environmentalist action. There were some strong contributions here, but overall the collection is uneven and reads a bit like a bunch of different blog posts.

I would not recommend this for someone wanting to learn about Reclaiming Tradition; the tradition's Principles of Unity are included at the beginning of the book and there are some interesting historical notes about different demonstrations and actions Reclaiming folks have been involved in over the decades, but Reclaiming didn't even really feel like a focus in all of the essays. For those looking to learn about Reclaiming I'd recommend the editor Irisanya Moon's book on the topic, which is much stronger and more informative than this collection.

I really like a lot of the essays, although this was my first introduction to the Reclaiming Witchcraft tradition - I'd never heard of it before. Probably not the best way to be introduced, there were some things that assumed knowledge I don't have. Still, good read and an inspiring way to frame your craft.

This was the first time I read something about Reclaiming tradition and I found it interesting.
it's book full of food for thought and it deals with an important topic like environmentalism.
I think I will look for other books by this other as I want to learn more
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this digital copy, all opinions are mine

This book didn't leave much of an impression on me to be honest. It was a collection of essays from people in various aspects of the Reclaiming path and environmentalism, but they did not seem to be organized very well. Its been a month or so since I read this and I genuinely cannot remember anything from it.
