A wealthy mill owner, Durgadas Prasad, hires a secretary to handle his office work. She falls in love with Billoo, who incidentally happens to be Durgadas' estranged grandson.

Rajan (Dilip Kumar) is a persuasive lover entangled in a suspense plot. He is in love with a poor girl Pratima (Swarnlata) who has been brought up by Pravasi (Pithawala), a curio dealer. Pravasi was once a dread dacoit. However, Rajan's family wishes him to marry the wealthy Lal Sahab's spoilt daughter (probably, Jyoti). In the backyard of Lal Sahab's mansion, there is a female statue named as Pratima. The very mention of that statue makes Lal Sahab shiver and starts looking at a picture of his country house, hanging on the wall. In the meanwhile, Rajan has turned desperate for Pratima, the poor girl and starts worshiping Pratima, the statue. He does some restoration work of the statue and makes it as a shrine in the village. The shrine is guarded by a woman who is suffering from dementia.

Reviews attacked it for its slow pace, but generally commended its extensive night shooting.

Once Bindiya and Geeta met at the river bank. They went sentimental over theirboy. Their emotions clashed. There was a mighty storm in their hearts. Ultimately,Sublimity gave way to Innocence. . But the fate calculated their lives to be different. Ashok loved Geeta. He liked Bindiya but never loved her. But Geeta had given him up and had never shown a sign of remembering him. Once she very politely turned him out of her house. Ashok was flabbergasted, stunned. He couldnt read his future. It was all darkness. . The circustances were playing with him. On the day of his wedding, the life of a jailer is saved by an inmate during a prison break. Back in his cell the prisoner, Kishore, recounts his life story. He spent his childhood amidst the family of a wealthy thakur (landowner) and was treated like a son. But when the thakur died his jealous son relegated Kishore to the status of a servant. Kishore's romance with Asha, the young thakur's sister, earns him a beating. Rather than besmirch the family's honour by eloping, he agrees to leave on condition that he may return when he has become worthy of Asha's hand. He finds a job as a carnival daredevil, diving in flames from a high platform into a tank of fire. However, the carnival's lady owner wants thrills of a different kind and she isn't one to be trifled with -she killed and stuffed her cat to stop it running away..... When Kishore makes it clear that his heart lies elsewhere, Madame is not amused. She arranges for Kishore to be murdered. But the plan goes awry and Kishore ends up being wrongly convicted of her murder and thus finds himself in jail. Both the jailer and his fellow inmates sympathise with him. The jailer wants him to meet his new bride whilst his fellows work on a plan to get him released. One of these is a good idea, the other is not.
