- One daughter, Pat Kirkland (Patricia Kirkland Bevan, 1925-2000). She was married to playwright Donald Bevan, author of the play on which the film Stalag 17 (1953) was based.
- The play in which she was starring when she unexpectedly died was "Never Too Late" at the Mineola Playhouse on Long Island (she didn't show up for the performance one night, and it turned out that she had died in her hotel room). She was playing the role of the pregnant wife created on Broadway and on screen by Maureen O'Sullivan.
- Sister of Terry Carroll, who appeared with her in one film.
