Tribeca Enterprises, the parent company of the Tribeca Film Festival, has announced that it is launching a standalone festival for TV in autumn.
Tribeca is expanding its existing April TV programme into the Tribeca TV Festival for episodic storytelling.
The three-day festival will present curated shows and conversations representative of the cultural zeitgeist, featuring both cast and crew.
Television programming has been a part of the Tribeca Film Festival since it screened the series finale of Friends in 2004 at the Tribeca Drive-In.
In 2016, Tribeca launched an official section of the festival dedicated to TV programming, which has featured world premieres of new series and seasons of anticipated shows and special events, including the world premieres of Emmy-nominated programmes The Night Of and, this year, The Handmaid’s Tale.

He's just directed Flight with Denzel Washington, and now Robert Zemeckis has his eye on Taking Flight, a biopic of the "Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore. He's taken the project over from David Gordon Greene, who has opted to remake Dario Argento's Suspiria instead.Harris-Moore's story is certainly an extraordinary one. Aged 18, he began a spree of stealing planes and speedboats, leading American police on a mad chase across six states and three countries. He stole his first plane in November 2008, and continued his one-man crimewave through Washington, Canada, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Indiana, and was finally arrested in the Bahamas, in his trademark barefoot state.Incredibly, he'd taught himself to fly purely by reading textbooks (which he'd stolen). He was better at taking off than landing, but managed to not die despite usually crashing. He sold the film rights to his story for more than a million dollars,...

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films.
Director: Sasha Krane.
Writer: Gordon Greene.
Cast: Monique Barajas, Chris Blasman and Malika Blessing.
Machete Joe is only the second horror film that this reviewer has seen with a primarily African American cast. Inheritance is the other and like this second film a Caucasian character dies first. This is a reverse of the usual black man dying early trope. However, Machete Joe does not offer any of the unique struggles inherent in African American cultural. Instead, this is a routine serial killer thriller with a spoof of filmmaking the only interesting element.
Two producers have gathered a cast of actors to an isolated ranch to film "Machete Man." There is trouble on the set as only thirty pages of the script have been written. The other sixty pages have to be improvised. But that is not...

"Have you ever emotionally been butt fu**ed by a friend"? Yeah, that's what I took out of the new red band trailer for The Sitter, the latest stab at comedy from former indie auteur, David Gordon Greene(Pineapple Express). I think his turn to the dark side is now complete if Your Highness didn't do it already. The Sitter stars Jonah Hill as a slacker who is apparently pretty good at eating Ari...

Do you like to laugh at innapropriate things?
Of course you do!
So get ready to input numbers to make it appear you are over 18 and check out the redband trailer for The Sitter.
This outrageous comedy directed by David Gordon Greene (George Washington fans make some noooooize!) stars Jonah Hill as the world's most irresponsible babysitter. Let the F bombs and racial gags commence!
Our colleagues at IGN have launched the trailer with a special intro from the kids and some skinny dude pretending to be Jonah Hill. Someone's gotta look into that and let Hill's people know - there may be some legal action that needs to take place.

No relation to "Machete Phil" or "Machete Sam" from Broken Lizard's Club Dread, Machete Joe is a new Hollywood-themed horror flick in which a former Ghostbuster might find himself meeting a fate worse than crossing the streams.
Written by, produced by, and co-starring Gordon Greene under the direction of newcomer Sasha Krane, the currently in post-production Machete Joe sees a group of out-of-work actors deciding to take their careers into their own hands by shooting a low-budget horror film about an urban myth. With only 15 days to shoot their still unfinished script, their shoot at a remote castle in the desert turns into a real-life horror movie. As their egos begin to surface so do the dead bodies.
In addition to Greene, the film stars Erica Gimpel, Paul Campbell, and Jason Bonduris. Look for everyone's favorite black Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson as the local sheriff.
