Eager for a rare opportunity for a new life on a new planet, a man has only one obstacle to overcome: find his wife. The trailer for Aleem Hossain's debut feature, After We Leave, looks spare yet inviting, accompanied by an entrancing musical theme and snatches of dialogue that impart an intense tone to the proceedings. Briefly, it "is a gritty sci-fi drama about a man who has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to emigrate off Earth... if only he can find his estranged wife and convince her to come with him." Brian Silverman stars. Julie Kirkwood served as director of photography. Hossain, Silverman, and Kirkwood produced. Clay Wilcox, Anita Leeman-Torres and Anslem Richardson also star. What a way to start off the week! The formidable cast list for Showtime's forthcoming Twin Peaks revival series was revealed this morning, and man, is it a doozy. In addition to boasting such key returning players as Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer/Maddy Ferguson) and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), there are a number of surprising A-listers in the mix including Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Amanda Seyfried and Naomi Watts. On the downside, a not-insignificant number of cast members from both the original series and the 1992 prequel film Fire Walk with Me are completely absent from the list. Where, for instance, is Lara Flynn Boyle (or Moira Kelly, for that matter)? Michael Ontkean? Piper Laurie? Joan Chen? Anyone from the mill? (Literally, there is no one from the mill.) So while I'm thankful that most of the major players are back in action, I can't help but...

Image Entertainment always gives independent filmmakers an outlet to get their projects out to the masses. Many of these movies fall into the extremely competitive genre of horror and suffer from collapsing into the realm of cliché. Last Kind Words is one of the rare exceptions to this unfortunate trend.
17-year-old Eli (Spencer Daniels) and his family move to the Kentucky backwoods after the father (Clay Wilcox) loses his job. He decides to work on the secluded farm of a childhood friend and recluse (Brad Dourif). Upon exploring the woods near his new home, he meets a girl named Amanda (Alexia Fast) and feels an instant connection to her. His journeys also expose him to a dark secret the dead want restitution for from beyond the grave.
It's always a treat when you put in a movie expecting nothing more than a one-dimensional horror yarn but you get so much more.

An unexplained series of events occur on a Vegas tram; unexplained until the CSIs are on the case, that is. Nick (George Eads) returns from Hawaii after a seminar to find the joke's on him. The new boss, Db Russell (Ted Danson) lies on the tram floor and Nick thinks he's just a Db, which he is. Db by name, but not a real Db! Nick's reaction to his name, his initials is exactly what I thought when it was revealed who Ted was going to play in the show. Db as many know stands for 'dead body.' The others can only laugh and disappear. Nick isn't too happy to be the butt of their joke and he and Db don't really seem to hit it off - not like Nick and Ray (Laurence Fishburne). Two people were killed on the tram and three were injured. One Vic, Tom (Nathan Anderson) was stabbed.

Wow. Central Division is one intense cop drama. The four episode first season will cost you ten minutes of your life in viewing time, but a lot more than that in reflection. I’ve never seen so many twists and turns in such a short span of time with no more than two characters and a body. The minimalist cast consists of Brian Silverman as Det. Alan Edwards and Clay Wilcox as Det. Frank Hodge. You’ve seen both of these guys on a smattering of tv shows from Life and Cold Case for Silverman’s part to Criminal Minds and Heroes on the Wilcox side of things. Though usually bit players in these shows, these two guys are displaying some serious acting chops here. Of course they seem to be in capable hands with the series creator-writer-director Aleem Hossain, who helmed the the sci-fi web series It Ends Today...
