There doesn't seem to be any need to worry that The Chosen will be cancelled on The CW, at least for a while. Three seasons of the show have already been produced, the fourth season is in the works, and the network appears to be committed to airing them. But what if the ratings don't meet the executives' expectations? After all, the episodes have already been released elsewhere. Could it be pulled, as other acquired series have been? Stay tuned.

The Black Canary, aka actress Caity Lotz, has finally spoken about the cancellation of the long-running DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series by The CW before its eighth season. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has had a number of cast changes over the years. Lotz, who played Sara Lance/White Canary, was the only original cast member left from season one. The character first appeared as Black Canary on Arrow in October 2013 until the spinoff into “Legends,” which bowed in January 2016. Lotz had a late reaction to the cancellation news, as she was deeply immersed in Washington, D.C. lobbying efforts with The Creative Coalition for National Endowment for the Art funding. .

Legends of Tomorrow has been canceled after seven seasons at The CW.

Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu took to social media on Friday night to reveal the sad news.

“Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no Season 8 of Legends of Tomorrow," the tweet reads.

"We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”

Legends of Tomorrow Season 7 averaged 528,000 viewers and a 0.09 rating in the demo, up year-to-year.

With a week of DVR viewing factored in, the Arrowverse series builds to 860,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating.

The series wrapped its run back in March, and unfortunately, there was no closure for fans, meaning that the best we can hope for is a wrap-up as part of a crossover.

It marks the end of a long road for the series, which premiered in 2016.

While The CW is known for giving its longer-running series a proper goodbye, this season of Legends ended on a cliffhanger. Sources, however, pointed out that the characters can easily populate other series in the DC Arrowverse so you may see one or two of them in other shows.

It’s hard to put your finger on exactly why the seventh season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is so much better than the rest. The cast and crew are mostly the same core that have been on the show for the last couple of seasons. This season isn’t substantially shorter than the rest, so it’s not like there’s a lot of fat being trimmed. And the stories are every bit as ridiculous as this show has ever had. But there’s something about “Rage Against the Machines” that I think is very telling.

The 100th episode of the CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will welcome back Wentworth Miller, who will reprise his role as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold for the series’ milestone, Deadline has confirmed.

Miller rejoins the series for its 100th episode after previously appearing as the supe in Legends of Tomorrow‘s freshman and sophomore seasons. Miller’s Leonard also appeared in The Flash and Batwoman.

Set to air Oct. 27, Legends of Tomorrow‘s 100th episode will be a retrospective that revisits the series’ past through newcomer Amy Louise Pemberton’s human Gideon. Series star Caity Lotz will direct the milestone installment.

So, we’ve gone a little longer than we like to without a Legends of Tomorrow episode. Which of course raises the question of: when is the new episode of Legends of Tomorrow finally gonna get here? Good news, folks, we don’t have to wait much longer.

The next episode of Legends of Tomorrow is called “The Final Frame.” Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of the CW…

“When the Legends track down another Alien pod, they find a device that transports them to a cosmic bowling alley. Before consulting Sara (Caity Lotz), Astra (Olivia Swann) and Rory (Dominic Purcell), Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) makes a bet against the reigning champs for a ride back to the Waverider, but not everyone is happy about the plan when they realize what they are up against. Elsewhere, Nate (Nick Zano) plans a romantic date for him and Zari (Tala Ashe), but nothing goes as planned.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is making some changes as it looks toward Season 7.

Phil Klemmer revealed that "while John Constantine's arc on the show is coming to an end in season six, Matt Ryan's journey with the Legends is not over."

In season seven, Ryan will be back as a series regular, and he will play a new original role: Dr. Gwyn Davies, an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century who might be the team's only hope next season.

Matt Ryan, who has played John Constantine on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow since Season 3, will be wrapping up his arc as the DC antihero in the current sixth season, but Ryan is not going anywhere.

At the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel Sunday, executive producer/co-showrunner Phil Klemmer revealed that Ryan will be back as a series regular in Season 7 as a new character, Dr. Gwyn Davies, an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century who might be the team’s only hope next season.

Also in season 7, series regular voiceover cast member Amy Louise Pemberton, who has voiced Gideon, the Waverider’s AI, for all six seasons and has appeared as the AI’s physical form a handful of times, will now portray a flesh-and-blood version of Gideon in the real world, also as a series regular.

“Bay of Squids” is a perfect illustration of the line DC’s Legends of Tomorrow walks with every episode. It is very, very stupid, but it’s not even the first time this month that a Legends episode was dumb, and last week was one of the best episodes of the show ever. But in order for it to get away with being this dumb, everything about it has to hit just right. Half of “Bay of Squids” does it perfectly. The other half is a Foo Fighters video.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow will return to The CW this weekend with its sixth season, and there are big things ahead for the quirky superhero series. This season, viewers will see a solo story for Constantine (Matt Ryan), an animated episode, a parody of The Masked Singer, and a “Clue” type episode.

Ryan, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Adam Tsekhman, Olivia Swann, Shayan Sobhian, and Lisseth Chavez star in the series, which is a part of the DC universe on the network.

Phil Klemmer, a producer on series, revealed more about the decision to go animated for one of the episodes this season. He said the following, per Syfy Wire:

Legends of Tomorrow is following up last season’s inspired Friends, Star Trek and Downton Abbey homage episode by spoofing Disney animated classics and singing competition shows.

In a new trailer for Season 6 of the CW superhero series (premiering this Sunday at 8/7c), Astra (Olivia Swann) somehow — don’t think too hard about it; it’s Legends after all — gets transformed into an animated princess. Elsewhere, the Legends visit a singing competition program called Da Throne, which looks like the lovechild of American Idol and The Masked Singer.

Legends of Tomorrow‘s latest enemy is a little extra… terrestrial. In this exclusive Season 6 promo, the Waverider crew are on a mission to rescue Captain Sara Lance, who was abducted by ETs at the close of last June’s season finale. (Don’t blink while watching, or you might miss another possible captive.)

The Legends better keep the Waverider gassed up and ready to go. The CW has renewed the DC's Legends of Tomorrow TV series for a seventh year, which will air as part of the 2021-22 television season (September 2021 through August 2022).

The sixth season will air at some point during the current 2020-21 season. According to a now-deleted Instagram post from Dominic Purcell, there will be 14 episodes. Filming reportedly began in October and is expected to finish in May. Given the uncertainty of the current pandemic, it's conceivable that the cast and crew may keep working and bank some season seven episodes.

When Chicago Pd finally returns for Season 8, it will be without a series regular.

Per TV Line, Lisseth Chavez is bowing out of the role of Intelligence unit rookie Vanessa Rojas after one season.

If you watch Chicago Pd online, you know Rojas first arrived as an undercover cop, who went on to become a part of Voight's team.

She got close to Atwater, with the two becoming fast friends.

It's unclear how Roja's exit will be addressed on-screen, or if the actress could pop up to wrap up her storyline.

But Chavez will not be away from the small screen for long, with the actress becoming the newest recruit of the Waveride on The CW's Legends of Tomorrow.

She has landed the series regular role of alien expert Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz, according to TV Line.

Chicago P.D.’s Lisseth Chavez is set as a new series regular in the upcoming sixth season of season 6 of the CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The Warner Bros. TV-produced superhero drama moved in to cast Chavez shortly after she became available following a season-long stint as a series regular on NBC’s Chicago P.D.

Chavez will play Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz. Tough and self-sufficient, Spooner Cruz lives off the grid, devising ingenious tech for the detection of — and defense against — space aliens. And while some might call her paranoid, she calls it being prepared. We’re very excited for next Saturday’s DC Fandome.
