Josephine Lohoar Self

Josephine Lohoar Self is a writer and director, working across animation and live action. Her short stop motion animated film The Fabric of You (2019) was long listed for Best Animated Short at the Oscars (2021) as well as being nominated for a Scottish BAFTA. It received a Special Mention during its premiere at The Edinburgh International Film Festival (2019) and went on to play at Oscar Qualifying festivals such as LA International Short Film Festival & Bucheon International Animation Festival. Josephine has been commissioned twice by the Irish National broadcaster RTÉ, to create two short stop motion animated films with the award winning production company nm0316579. The Presenter (2023) (2022) was commissioned for World Mental Health Day and 'Gunter Falls in Love' (2021) for the Christmas programming in 2021. Günter Falls in Love (2020) went on to be nominated for an Irish Film and Television Academy Award for Best Animated Short (2021). Josephine is an alumnus to the Berlinale Talents Programme (2020) at The Berlin International Film Festival, The Scottish Film and Talent Network Programme (2019) and shortlisted for the Sundance Ignite Fellowship Award (2020).
