The film sees the Saw horror franchise get a fresh makeover with a new storyline and new characters. Michael and Peter Spierig direct the eighth installment, which picks up a decade after the death of the eponymous murderer as police investigate a rash of slayings matching Jigsaw's signature fatal puzzles. Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Cle Bennett and Emily Anderson star in the R-rated movie. Not too long ago, we announced the slate of programming for San Diego's Horrible Imaginings Film Festival, which starts next week. Now the festival wants to entice you with a compelling event both gruesome and forbidden --- cannibalism. Explored in films and tales such as Alive, Ravenous, Moby Dick's Queequeg, Robinson Crusoe, Silence of the Lambs, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and even Looney Tunes cartoons, cannibalism is a topic that continues to shock and repel us. At 6:00 pm on Friday, September 9th, the festival will explore our society's fascination with the topic. Dr. Emily Anderson, the curator for the San Diego Museum of Man's "Cannibals: Myth & Reality" exhibit, will lead a panel on the phenomenon of cannibalism in pop culture and the real-world contexts that fuel it. New 'Step Up Revolution' movie delivered cool dancing action,drama & more. Summit Entertainment released their new dance/drama flick "Step Up Revolution" into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought it was very entertaining,especially the dance numbers. They served up a lot of good beats and choreography. It stars: Ryan Guzman, Kathryn McCormick, Misha Gabriel,and Peter Gallagher. In the new flick, character Emily Anderson struggles with her wealthy father,trying to convince him that she wants to be a professional dancer. He gives her an ultimatum that if she doesn't land her next dance gig,she has to come work for his company. Character Sean tries to help her out with her dancing,and eventually introduces her to his crew,which is called "The Mob."
