Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken brings a new kind of monster into the DreamWorks universe. The unique spin on popular mythology portrays krakens as anything but the hungry ship-eaters they are understood to be, with the titular Ruby Gillman and her family simply doing their best to live some semblance of a normal life on land. The film joyfully subverts expectations and, in true DreamWorks fashion, boasts enough heart and humor to be enjoyable for the whole family.
The film aims to blend sweeping mythological concepts with the reality of being a teenager, and smoothly accomplishes its goal with the help of music by Grammy-winning composer Stephanie Economou. Economou is known for work on a range of projects including Jupiter’s Legacy and Manhunt, but thanks to a long history of collaboration with composer Harry Gregson-Williams has also worked on beloved films like The Martian and the live-action Mulan. Since 2020, Mimi Webb has been making waves in the Britpop scene. The singer-songwriter from Canterbury, who started writing songs when she was just a teenager, rose to prominence on TikTok after Charlie D’Amelio featured her debut single “Before I Go” in one of her posts. Quickly, Webb gained a following by sharing the reactions of family and friends to her music. She also established herself as a bedroom pop princess with a knack for taking her massive R&b vocals and filtering them through upbeat dance-pop production to craft her soulful sound.

Wet Leg and Beyoncé both won two Brits, while The 1975, Aitch, and Becky Hill also scooped the top prizes.

The Platinum Party at the Palace officially kicked off Saturday evening at Buckingham Palace with an opening sketch featuring Queen Elizabeth II and Paddington Bear sharing a meal.
“Perhaps you would like a marmalade sandwich? I always keep one for emergencies,” Paddington Bear asks Her Majesty, procuring a sticky treat from his red bucket cap.
“So do I,” the Queen replies, showcasing her own sandwich after reaching into her bag. “I keep mine in here.”
The live-action portion of the event then launched with Adam Lambert and Queen taking the stage to perform for the Buckingham Palace audience, with the crowd thumping the familiar boom-boom-clap of “We Will Rock You.” The number concluded with Brian May emerging at the top of the stage, shredding the song’s ending guitar riff while surrounded by smoke.
The show then immediately moved into renditions of “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “We Are the Champions.

Mimi Webb made her late-night debut on The Tonight Show, performing the upbeat single, “House on Fire.” Appearing with a live band, the British singer gave a rousing rendition of the catchy song.
Webb released “House on Fire” in February, accompanied by a music video that found the singer cavorting with firefighters and confronting a cheating partner. The song followed the release of 2021’s Seven Shades of Heartbreak, which featured her breakthrough single “Good Without.”

Mimi Webb channels her inner Lisa Left Eye in the video for her catchy, self-incriminating song “House on Fire,” which dropped on Friday.
The video opens with the British pop star confronting her man via text for (allegedly) cheating. His house, then, mysteriously catches on fire. “Oh I’d say it wasn’t me, hmm/And sure we dated once in a while/But if there was a motive, it’s not enough for a trial,” she sings before sharing her escape plan.
