The Terrifier franchise has no female equivalent for Art the Clown, but Terrifier 3s ending did set up one from an unexpected source. Terrifier 3s brutally gory kills are hard for some viewers to stomach, but they arent the scariest thing about the controversial slasher sequel. The film introduces Sienna's extended family as she goes to stay with them over the Christmas holiday. Aunt Jess, Uncle Greg, and their daughter Gabbie are brought into harms way due to their association with Sienna once Art the Clown and Vicky come back for their vengeance. By the time Terrifier 3's ending concludes, the family is torn apart with multiple deaths - including that of Uncle Greg.

The fates of Sienna's family members is very much at the focus of the finale. Gabbie has a fake-out death before Art and Vicky reveal that she is still alive, while Aunt Jess dies tied to a chair as rats are forced down her throat through a tube.

While Terrifier 3 never explains the differences between Vicky and Art the Clown, these are relatively easy to work out by looking at their respective responses to injuries. In general, director Damian Leones Terrifier trilogy owes more to the gory splatter movies of Herschell Gordon Lewis than the tightly wound narrative experimentation of Christopher Nolan. Damien Leone's "Terrifier 3," just like its immediate 2022 predecessor, is one of the year's great success stories. Made for only $2 million, "Terrifier 3" has earned a surprising $45.9 million at the box office so far. This is astonishing, given that "Terrifier 3" is hardly a broadly appealing, four-quadrant crowd-pleaser. Indeed, it's a gruesomely violent poem to nihilism and death, starring a demonic clown who merrily dismembers, decapitates, and sometimes eats a plethora of victims. The "Terrifier" movies are among the goriest one might ever see, and that reputation is bringing horror fans out in droves. 

The plot of "Terrifier 3" continues directly from "Terrifier 2," following Sienna (Lauren Lavera) and her brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) as they continue to flee the mayhem wrought by Art the Clown. Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi) survived the events of the first "Terrifier," but became demonically possessed, and serves as Art's terrifying accomplice in "Terrifier 3.

Writer/director Damien Leone had a budget of around $55,000 to work with on his breakout horror film Terrifier, and a budget of “a little over” $250,000 for Terrifier 2, which was a massive hit when it was released in 2022, earning $15.1 million at the box office. Since the second film did so well, Terrifier 3 has a substantially higher budget. A “couple million” went into this one – and while the reviews of Terrifier 3 were generally positive (JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols considers the film to be the best entry in the Terrifier franchise), some fans were left feeling that something was missing. Leone has admitted that he cut the movie down to make sure it wouldn’t be as long as Terrifier 2 was… so is that why there seemed to be gaps in the story? Leone says that’s not the case, that he purposely made the movie in an ambiguous style.

Terrifier 3 is a smash-hit and Halloween is just around the corner.
