“Everyone Is Doing Great” will continue. A second season of the dark comedy, created by James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, is currently in production in California and North Carolina. Season 1, which was first distributed by Hulu (U.S.) in January 2021 and later Paramount+ (international), was independently produced. Fifth Season (previously as Endeavor Content) represented the sale. The eight-episode second season was also independently produced and is seeking distribution.

The series follows former co-stars Jeremy (Lafferty), Andrea (Alexandra Park), Seth (Stephen Colletti) and Izzy (Cariba Heine), whose lives continue to intertwine years after the end of a successful TV show, as they grapple with the fallout of love, loss and fame.

“Everyone Is Doing Great,” the comedy created by “One Tree Hill” alumni James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, is heading to Paramount Plus outside the U.S.

The ViacomCBS-backed SVOD has picked up streaming rights to the eight-part Hulu series for the Nordics and Latin America — a deal that marks the show’s first international sale. Endeavor Content is handling the U.S. and international sales.

The comedy rolls out in the Nordics from Thursday, while the Latin America premiere will come later this year. “Everyone Is Doing Great” launched in January on Hulu.

Written and produced by Lafferty and Colletti, the series follows actors Seth (Colletti) and Jeremy (Lafferty), who together enjoyed the success of hit television vampire drama “Eternal” and, five years after their show has wrapped, continue to lean on each other to navigate their professional and personal lives.

Exclusive: Hulu has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the comedy Everyone Is Doing Great which was created by One Tree Hill alums James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti. All eight half-hour episodes will premiere on the streamer on January 13, 2021. The first teaser can be watched above.

In Fatman, Mel Gibson stars as Chris—whose last name is yes, Kringle. Now, Gibson’s Santa is unlike any Claus that Hollywood history has ever produced.

That’s a good thing because a bratty kid Billy Wenan (Chance Hurstfield) has hired a hitman (Walton Goggins) to take him out for gifting him a lump of coal (it was so deserved).

All that shooting at empty cans that Chris does in the name of stress relief will come in handy. When Goggins’ so-called “Skinny Man” comes calling, armed for a small revolution, it’s a high-noon moment right out of the best Westerns.

Saban Films has dropped the first official trailer for Eshom and Ian Nelms’ upcoming action-comedy film 'Fatman.'

The dark action-comedy features Mel Gibson, as a whole different kind of Santa Claus who is being hunted by a highly-skilled assassin (Walton Goggins).

'Fatman' is about a 12-year-old brat who receives a lump of coal in his stocking and decides to hire a trained hitman to kill Chris Cringle aka Santa Claus, whose “business” is in such decline that he’s become bitter, broke, and alcoholic. Mel Gibson and Kate Bosworth have signed on to star in the action movie “Force of Nature” with Michael Polish directing.

Producers are Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films CEOs Randall Emmett and George Furla with Luillo Ruiz. Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert are exec producing. Christian Mercuri’s Bluebox International will begin selling international rights at the Cannes Film Festival, which opens May 14.

Cory Miller wrote the script, which centers on a retired detective who must protect residents of a building that’s being evacuated during a hurricane evacuation while criminals attempt to pull off a robbery there. Production is set to begin July 19 in Puerto Rico.

It’s the second Gibson project available at Cannes, following Wednesday’s announcement that he will play Santa Claus in the independent action-comedy feature “Fatman.” That film will be directed by the team of Ian and Eshom Nelms from their own script.

Carol Burnett is an undisputed TV legend. The trailblazing comedienne is the queen of making people laugh - but her own life hasn't been all smiles and laughter. Burnett is set to co-produce (alongside Tina Fey) a film adaptation of her memoir about her late daughter, Carrie Hamilton, who died 17 years ago at the age of 38.

Born in 1963, Carrie Hamilton was the daughter of Burnett and her second husband, producer Joe Hamilton. Early in life, however, Hamilton's struggles began: she suffered through three years of addiction while she was still in her teens. It was Burnett, as she explained to People in a 2018 interview, who forced Hamilton into rehab.

"She got sober when she was 17," Burnett said. "I put her in a third rehab place, and oh my God, she hated me. I came to the conclusion that I had to love her enough to let her hate me. She...

Carol Burnett’s bestseller “Carrie and Me: A Mother-Daughter Love Story” is in the works as a movie at Focus Features with Burnett, Tina Fey, Eric Gurian, and Steven Rogers producing.

Burnett will produce through her Mabel Cat Productions with Fey and Gurian under their production banner Little Stranger along with Rogers. The sibling team of Ian and Eshom Nelms (“Small Town Crime”) is tackling the screenplay. Little Stranger’s Jeff Richmond will executive produce. A director and cast have yet to be attached.

The film will follow the highs and lows of her life as a working mother, actress, and producer — all told through her relationship with her daughter Carrie Hamilton. Carrie overcame a public struggle with drug addiction as a teenager, but achieved sobriety as an adult before dying of cancer at the age of 38 in 2002. Burnett’s book was published in 2013.

Brothers Ian and Eshom Nelms have been brought on to adapt the screenplay. Burnett is producing the project via her Mabel Cat Productions company along with Tina Fey and Eric Gurian under their production company banner Little Stranger, and I, Tonya screenwriter and producer Steven Rogers.

Published in 2013, the novel shares intimate details of Carrie’s life as the daughter of one of the most beloved figures on television and in film. Brothers Ian and Eshom Nelms have been tapped to direct the thriller Capture for John Wick production company Thunder Road.

The story centers on a former Sfpd officer who is wrongfully accused of being the culprit of a devastating terrorist attack and must race against time to prove his innocence and stop the next bombing. Albert Torres wrote the screenplay, which was developed with Fermion Films.

Along with Thunder Road, Capture will be produced by 3 Arts Entertainment. Basil Iwanyk, Tom Lassally and Erwin Stoff will produce, with Nik Bower and Deepak Nayar’s Riverstone Pictures set to finance. Esther Hornstein will oversee the project...

Distributor plans second quarter theatrical release.

Saban Films has picked up North American rights to Brad Silberling’s An Ordinary Man starring Ben Kingsley and Hera Hilmar.

Silberling, whose credits include City Of Angels, directed from his screenplay about a war criminal in hiding who forms a relationship with his only connection to the outside world – his maid. Hilmar stars in Peter Jackson’s upcoming Mortal Engines.

Rick Dugdale produced An Ordinary Man for La-based Enderby Entertainment, alongside Kingsley and Silberling. Daniel Petrie Jr. serves as executive producer.

Saban Films plans a second quarter theatrical release. Ness Saban and Bill Bromiley negotiated the deal with Enderby on behalf of the filmmakers.

“Sir Ben Kingsley is the epitome of class, boldness, and exalting talent,” Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said. “He has truly captivated us with An Ordinary Man.”

Following its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival Lizzie, the period piece centered on suspected axe murderer Lizzie Borden, has been acquired by Saban Films for North American distribution.

Starring Chloë Sevigny, Kristen Stewart, and Kim Dickens, Lizzie was directed by Craig William Macneill, who helmed the Candle Cove first season of Channel Zero and 2015's The Boy.

Saban Films plans to team up with Roadside Attractions to bring Lizzie to theaters this summer, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details as they are announced.
