UTA has signed The Kinnane Brothers. The eight brothers have joined forces to form a full-service independent film, television and content production company that has shown a talent for crossing mediums to create click-y and binge-able movies, shows and videos. The filmmaking collective keeps it all in house, acting as writers, directors, producers, cinematographers, editors and music supervisors on their projects.

Most recently, two of the brothers – Charles and Daniel Kinnane – directed the hit Netflix film “Home Team,” a family-friendly football comedy that starred Kevin James and was produced by Adam Sandler. The film debuted in the top slot on Netflix’s most-watched charts in the United States. It also ranked in the top 10 in 90 countries worldwide when it premiered in January 2022.

In addition to Charles and Daniel, the other brothers are Pat, Brendan, Pete, John, Wil and Jeffrey Azize — the latter is actually a brother-in-law. The Rhode Island natives...

For a few minutes at the very outset, “Home Team” threatens to be more interesting than it looks. Announcing itself in the opening credits as based on a true story, Charles and Daniel Kinnane’s film opens on the New Orleans Saints’ victory in the 2010 Super Bowl — an unlikely triumph for coach Sean Payton that was tainted two years later by his suspension over the Bountygate scandal, which saw the Saints accused of paying out bonuses to injure rival players. It’s a morally murky context in which to introduce the protagonist of a family-friendly sports comedy, and you may initially be intrigued to see how “Home Team” resolves it — until it becomes quite clear that the answer is by ignoring it almost entirely. Instead, Payton’s fall from grace is merely the pretext for a shameless riff on the “Bad News Bears” formula, in which the coach returns home...

The cast features Kevin James as Coach Payton, plus Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Jackie Sandler, Gary Valentine, Tait Blum, Maxwell Simkins, Jacob Perez, Bryant Tardy, Manny Magnus, Liam Kyle, Christopher Farrar, Merek Mastrov, and Isaiah Mustafa. Netflix has unveiled the cast roaster for Home Team, a family comedy loosely inspired by New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton’s experiences during his year-long suspension from the league. It was previously reported that Kevin James would play Payton in the film, which hails from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison and James’ Hey Eddie Productions banner.

The cast includes Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Jackie Sandler, Gary Valentine, Tait Blum, Maxwell Simkins, Jacob Perez, Bryant Tardy, Manny Magnus, Liam Kyle, Christopher Farrar, Merek Mastrov, Isaiah Mustafa, Christopher Titone, Ashley D. Kelley, Lavell Crawford, Allen Covert, Anthony L. Fernandez, and Jared Sandler.

“Home Team,” a Netflix film that stars Kevin James as New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, has announced its full cast, including new additions Taylor Lautner and Rob Schneider.

Payton revealed that Netflix was making a movie about his life last month, and the film centers on Payton in 2012 when the coach was suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goddell for the entire 2012 season related to the team’s role in the “Bountygate” scandal, in which the team was accused of paying out bounties or bonuses to players who successfully injured opposing team players. The film shows how Payton began to reassess his life and took a job as the offensive coach for his son Connor’s sixth-grade football team in the Dallas area.
