"Thelma" (2024) isn't a particularly great movie by any means - but its well meant, well spirited, has a simple yet good plot and acting by June Squibb is so good that it does make for a good watch. At running time 1 h 35 min this movie did dragged here and there, but overall its a good film. It has something to say about aging, perception of old people in a family and about one not willing to face the fact that he is old. But at the end one has to do it.
Overall, "Thelma" is about an old person trying to defy the odds. And yes, "Mission Impossible" reference is a funny one if by no means a parody. Even the end title sequence is clearly inspired by MI famous tune. All in all, a pretty good little movie.
