Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia, and Logan Mitchell are four high school hockey fans from Minnesota. They are given an opportunity by record producer, Gustavo Rocque, to move to Hollywood as part of his latest boy band project known as Big Time Rush. Along the way, they stay at the no-so-luxurious Palm Woods Hotel in Hollywood and face an uptight hotel manager, grueling recording sessions, corporate bureaucracy, crazed fans, meet girls, cause chaos, and go on other adventures. Kendall's mother and sister Katie join the four boys and have hilarious romps of their own.

The company that owns Rocque Records insists that one of the members of BTR should take on a faux-bad boy persona. When neither of them are able or willing to be as bad as the company wants them to be, Griffin hires a fifth member named "WayneWayne" to join the band and show them what being bad is all about. Luckily, a casual observation by their teen method actress friend Camille makes them realize that even he's not worth all the hype, but is that enough to keep WayneWayne and his corporate-hired posse from replacing one of the boys?

The four "hockey heads" need some home improvement for their new apartment, despite the objections of Reginald Bitters, the Palm Woods manager. This couldn't possibly come at a worse time, because Arthur Griffin has warned Gustavo that RCM CBT Global-Net Sanyoid, the parent company of Rocque Records, is threatening to dump the entire music division. The proposal to do otherwise hinges on a video designed to make an impression on the company's aging Japanese CEO, starring the boys.

Kendall, Carlos, James, and Logan are required to attend four hours at school. However, instead of going to school at the Palmwoods Hotel, which they all have their own fantasies about, Gustavo insists that they attend school at his recording studio, which operates out of a supply closet. Katie want to go to the Palmwoods School as well, but since the school is only for kids in the entertainment industry, she and her mother attempt an acting career by auditioning for television commercials.

RCM CBT Global-Net Sanyoid wants Gustavo to write a love song for the boys to perform, but they need inspiration. And that inspiration comes in the form of a new arrival at the Palm Woods Hotel - a pretty young girl named Jo Taylor who's has musical aspirations of her own. For Gustavo, writing the actual song proves to be far more difficult, and his ordeal is further compromised by the presence of Kendall's sister Katie, who has to write an essay for school on an adult she supposedly idolizes.

The boys have to find jobs after they are forced to pay $2000 to the hotel after all the destruction that they cause.

Spending all their time together since moving to LA has given the guys cabin fever, so they decide to spend some time apart.

It's been three months since the boys of Big Time Rush moved to Hollywood to record their demos. Now it's up to Griffin to decide the future of the band.

When Gustavo has to go away on business, he lets the guys house-sit his mansion. While the boys do their best to keep the house in pristine condition, they inevitably destroy everything inside that Gustavo values.

After learning that Gustavo is hosting a party at the studio that the boys are not invited to, the guys decide to host their own party at the Palm Woods.

The four boys tell Camille how a publicity photo and competition with another teen heartthrob led to disaster for them all.

Though the boys promised themselves to remain down-to-earth, Hollywood Fever strikes James, Carlos and Logan.

The boys suggest having a dance for their end-of-the-school-year party. They have till the end of the day to pull it off.

Gustavo thinks it's time to build some hype around Big Time Rush and sets up an important interview with famous blogger Deke. Deke has been known to make or break a career, so the guys must get this right.

Jordin Sparks is staying at the Palm Woods while she records a new song with Gustavo. The guys are told to stay away from her because they are bad luck.

On the eve of their first album release, Griffin dashes the boys' music dreams. They return home to Minnesota. Coming to terms with how their world has changed, the guys decide to take control and, with Gustavo, plan their first big concert.

Rocque Records wants to make a music video for BTR's song "The City is Ours," and despite Gustavo's insistence that they do it his way, Kendall, James, Logan, and Carlos insist on giving parts in the video to all their friends... and more.

Gustavo needs a place to stay while his mansion is flooded. Jennifer invites him to stay at the Crib just as some sort of "Paranormal Activity" starts up at the Palm Woods.

The boys return from their first worldwide tour and find that being the new kids at the Palm Woods Hotel has some advantages that fame doesn't.

The guys are visited by their hometown friend, who happens to be an awesome singer but also the world's biggest klutz. At the same time, James is visited by a fan whose behavior quickly turns from complimentary to stalker-like.

James helps Camille run lines for an audition and they end up kissing. Elsewhere, as Gustavo tries to set up Carlos with his first girlfriend, Kendall and Jo try to balance their hectic schedules so they can see each other.

The boys are scheduled to make their first TV appearance, but when it looks like BTR will be bumped from the line-up, they do whatever it takes to make their debut happen.

James helps Katie get closer to her new crush but becomes like an overprotective father instead. All parties converge on the most romantic movie of the year, "Kiss and Tell."

BTR gets to spend a day at the beach with their Palm Woods friends, but Gustavo fears a repeat of history. Boy Blast went to the beach, after which their career tanked. His plan: sabotage.

James and Logan volunteer at a dog shelter and end up adopting eight dogs, but Bitters doesn't allow dogs in the Palm Woods, so they have to find them new homes. Jennifer is manipulating Carlos, so it's up to Kendall and Jo to rescue him.

Kendall buys Jo a gold necklace to show that he's committed, but Camille thinks Logan bought it for her. When Gustavo hangs BTR's new gold record, Carlos and James wonder what would happen if they played it.

Inundated by paparazzi and crazed fans, the boys move to Bel Air only to become trapped within the gated community.

It's date night at the Palm Woods. James helps Carlos on his date with one of the Jennifers, Kendall joins Lucy's dinner with her parents, and Logan takes a blind date out so he can spy on Camille's date with Jett.

Griffin pitches a line of BTR merchandise to the CEO of Selmart, but the boys hate the products. Taking matters into their own hands the guys crash the meeting and accidentally get their music banned from Selmart stores.

The guys accidentally destroy the tape of the new Big Time Rush episode they were supposed to give the network. Needing a replacement episode the guys decide to make a blooper show which Stephen Glickman and Ciara Bravo host.

The four Minnesota hockey-heads fear their career is threatened by a new influx of boy bands from the British Isles.

The guys are caught in a web of lies. Kendall has to keep Jo from discovering Lucy's advances on Kendall. Logan's fib about being sick turns into a medical emergency, and Carlos and James claim Rocque Records was robbed.

Arthur tests the guys' ability to handle wealth, but they quickly make bad decisions with their money

The boys try to prevent their careers from being ruined by sleazy tabloid media, which proves to be difficult for Kendall when Lucy Stone records a song that seems to be about him.

It's the Tween Choice Awards, and BTR is nominated and booked to close the show; however, their night is in jeopardy when the guys uncover an evil plan to brainwash the audience.

After being told that boy bands always split up after the third album, the guys compete to find solo "breakout" gigs before being left behind.

It's time again for the prank war at the Palm Woods, and this time it's kids versus adults as they battle for the honor of winning Lord Prankington's crown.

The guys are pitched a kids cartoon show but instead do a video game to expand their brand. A mix-up while wearing motion capture suits puts them at the center of an extraterrestrial news story.

The band makes a cameo appearance on a children's show where an evil stage-mom rules, Carlos pursues the show's teen star, and Logan and James seek decent snacks.

Inside BTR's tour buses, craziness happens as the guys make their way to their next gig. They may get there in time, but it won't be easy.

While James buys a motorcycle in another attempt to win Lucy's heart, Kendall teaches Jo how to drive cars with manual transmissions.

Logan brings Carlos along to the MCAT test as his good luck charm, but when Carlos somehow gets a higher score, Logan questions his plans to become a doctor.
