  Effie Perine : [nods]  She kept me waiting at the door while she undressed. Her clothes were on a chair where she'd dumped them, hat and coat underneath. Her slip, on top, was still warm. She'd wrinkled up the bed, but the wrinkles weren't mashed down.

  Sam Spade : You're a detective, darling, but she didn't kill him.
