When Nolan falls from his horse in the final charge, he falls on his right side with his right arm above his head. However, when we see him at the end, as his friend Capt. Morris is walking past, he is now on his left side with his left hand above his head.
The character called Featherstonehaugh (played by Corin Redgrave) has his name pronounced more or less as it is written, with four syllables. An upper-class Englishman of the mid-19th century (or, indeed, today) would pronounce it "Fanshawe".
The 17th Lancers are shown wearing the same cherry colored pantaloons or overalls as the 11th Hussars, but a major sub-theme of the film is that Lord Cardigan had dressed his regiment - the 11th Hussars - in cherry colored pantaloons - leading to their nickname 'cheribums'. All other regiments in the Light Brigade wore dark blue or gray overalls, including Captain Nolan who was a member of the 15th Hussars, though this regiment was not part of the five regiments who took part in the charge itself.
Louis Nolan is shown dying on the battlefield at Balaclava after a mortar shell hit throws him off his horse. He actually managed to stay on his saddle; the horse returned to the British lines and Nolan fell down dead there and not in the middle of the field.
In one of the animated sequences, Lord Raglan tips his hat to the Sultan with his right hand. Lord Raglan had lost his right hand at the Battle of Waterloo, as is shown in the live action film.
In the 'Black Bottle' scene, the officer ordering the bottle of wine is Captain Nolan. In fact, Nolan never served with the 11th Hussars, the officer involved in the incident was Captain Reynolds.
During the first battle, the British infantry's bayonets can be seen wriggling as the soldiers advance - showing that they are rubber rather than steel.
At the siege of Sebastopol, a shell explodes among a group of soldiers, who do not fall immediately but only after some time throw themselves into the air or down to the ground. It's clear they have been waiting for the explosion but react too slowly.
Following the Sergeant Major's flogging, when Nolan, Cardigan, & the other officers are walking beneath the breezeway, a modern overhead electric lamp and its outdoor cord covers are clearly visible overhead.
When the recruits are being stripped and washed, several of them have modern-day tan lines (from swimming costumes).
When Cardigan is berating Nolan about his Indian servant, Cardigan can be heard saying, "You and your black rogue," while clearly mouthing something different.
