Some of the chatter surrounding the Justice League Snyder Cut has been pretty wild, but the most surprising rumor has to be that Ryan Reynolds could return as Green Lantern in the director’s cut of the DC team-up flick. What’s even stranger is that Reynolds has been feeding the rumors himself, with various tongue-in-cheek posts on social media. But what would it actually look like if Hal Jordan did drop by to help out the League in the movie?
Well, prolific digital artist BossLogic has come up with this epic fan poster which imagines Reynolds’ Emerald Knight facing off against Darkseid himself in Justice League. The uber-cool artwork sees a tiny Lantern using his Power Ring to fight an enormous, oversized ruler of Apokolips, and you can check it out for yourself below.

Although most of the fanfare has surrounded the Snyder Cut of Justice League following its transition from the subject of a long-running fan campaign to one of the most hotly-anticipated comic book movies in recent memory, Warner Bros.’ DC-related content was always designed to be one of the major selling points of HBO Max.
While the complicated rights issues mean that it could be a while before the streaming service manages to gather them all under the one roof, there are still a huge amount of comic book properties available for subscribers, with more to come in the future thanks to the huge investment being made in the likes of J.J. Abrams’ Justice League Dark and the James Wan-produced Aquaman animated miniseries.
A lot of the DC back catalogue might be leaving the newly-launched platform already, including Tim Burton’s Batman movies, but as is the case with...

You’ve no doubt heard of Netflix and chill… but what about Netflix and kill?
That’s the unofficial tagline that accompanied the return of Mortal Kombat to the online streaming platform.
News broke just yesterday that Netflix was adding Paul W. S. Anderson’s cult favorite to its ever-changing content library next month – April 1st, to be specific. And sure enough, Mortal Kombat fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight that the ’90s gem was returning to the platform.
It all started when Ed Boon tweeted ComicBook.com‘s story with the aforementioned caption, and the replies were littered with excitement and straight-up passion for all things Mortal Kombat. Oh, and more than a few suggestions that Boon’s tweet was in some way confirming the next playable character headed to the so-hot-right-now Mortal Kombat 11.

Arrow completed its eight-season run in January, marking the end of the show that birthed the Arrowverse in the first place. As such, many iconic DC heroes appeared on the series over the years, but star Stephen Amell still has one that he wished had showed up. Apparently, the Emerald Archer actor wanted Supernatural star Jensen Ackles to turn up as Batman.
Amell attended C2E2 2020 in Chicago over the weekend, alongside co-star Emily Bett Rickards, and a fan question during a Q&a asked him to name the one character that he regrets never appeared on Arrow. He immediately jumped to the idea of his old pal Ackles boarding the series as the Dark Knight himself, saying:
“We could have had Jensen Ackles come on as Batman but only if people wanted to have an awesome time,” Amell said. “I would have liked the whole Bruce Wayne of it all.

As “Arrow” heads into retirement with its 170th and final episode on Tuesday, Stephen Amell’s Emerald Archer leaves behind a legacy that may only be rivaled by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. Both are billionaire playboys that become self-sacrificing heroes, using their brains and expensive technology in lieu of actual superpowers. But the similarities between the two extend up to the corporate level. After all, they’re both the godfathers of two of the most successful comic book franchises in media. And for The CW, it happened by accident. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last December, “Arrow” co-developer and consulting producer Marc Guggenheim said they never planned to introduce other DC superheroes. “The answers to all those questions were, ‘No, no, and no.'” After all, the network’s co-owner Warner Bros. was busy trying to build its rival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen,...

Remember when spy movies used to stress intricate plot lines and intriguing characters, as opposed to over-the-top action sequences? If you pine for the days of thrillers like The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and The Quiller Memorandum, then the Warner Archives' release of the 1985 movie Code Name: Emerald should fit the bill. Never heard of the film? Neither had I until a review copy arrived from the studio. There's an inherent prejudice that most of us have regarding movies that we haven't heard of - namely, if it's obscure, then it must be bad. Emerald proves, however, that some truly fine films are merely the victim of bad marketing or audience indifference. I'm not sure if this movie ever received a theatrical release, but it's certainly a worthwhile venture.
Ed Harris (who resembles the young Robert Duvall, not only physically, but in terms of mannerisms,...
