From her interview, it’s understood that Rinna isn’t looking for a full-time commitment right now, and there are reportedly no active plans to revive her “Days of our Lives” character on the series. “Batwoman” alum Caroline Dries has been tapped as co-showrunner of Prime Video’s “Legally Blonde” prequel series.

Dries, who served as “Batwoman’s” showrunner and executive producer for the CW, will co-showrun “Elle” alongside creator Laura Kittrell, who also serves as co-showrunner and EP. Dries has been onboard the project since shortly after the series received the greenlight from the streamer.

James Darren, the beloved actor and singer who rose to stardom as the charming surfer Moondoggie in the Gidget film series, passed away on Monday at the age of 88.

He is also known for his for his role of Officer James Corrigan in the police drama T. J. Hooker.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Darren died peacefully in his sleep at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after battling heart-related issues, his son Jim Moret confirmed.

Per the report, he initially went to the hospital for an aortic valve replacement, but doctors determined he was too weak to undergo the procedure.

After being discharged and returning home, his condition worsened, requiring him to be readmitted to the hospital.

“I always thought he would pull through,” Moret said to THR, “because he was so cool. He was always cool.”

James Darren, the former teen idol and pop singer who played the dreamy surfer Moondoggie in three Gidget movies before starring on television on The Time Tunnel and T.J. Hooker, died Monday. He was 88.

Born in 1941 in New Jersey, Aprea began acting in New York City in the early 1960s before moving to Los Angeles. His breakthrough came in 1968 with a role in the hit film Bullitt, starring Steve McQueen. This opened the door for many more roles in both film and television.

Perhaps Aprea’s most memorable role was as young Salvatore “Sal” Tessio in The Godfather Part II in 1974. He described the role as the high point of his career. To prepare, Aprea reached out to actor Abe Vigoda, who played the older Tessio in the original The Godfather. Vigoda advised him simply to “have a good time.

He went on to one of his most memorable performances as Young Tessio in The Godfather Part II (1974) after auditioning to play Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola‘s original 1972 film.

Aprea once said working with Coppola and actors Al Pacino and Robert De Niro was “the high point” of his career, adding, “I was surrounded by the best in The Godfather.”

Paramount Pictures has picked up the screenplay for erotic thriller Over Asking, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

In what is described as a highly competitive situation, the studio landed the feature spec script from Caroline Dries (Batwoman). The movie’s story focuses on the frightening aftermath that follows a chance encounter between a seemingly perfect couple and a powerful female attorney.

Karen Rosenfelt serves as producer on the project that does not yet have a director attached.

Dries served as showrunner on The CW series Batwoman and was on executive producer for The Vampire Diaries. Her other television credits include Smallville, Melrose Place, Arrow and Gotham Knights.

Rosenfelt was credited as an executive producer on the first Twilight movie and served as producer on the franchise’s subsequent films. She has also worked on such films as The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me, Me Before You and The New Mutants.

As a Melrose Place reboot is in the works at CBS, the original series is getting a new audio boost.

Three of the show’s original stars Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton and Courtney Thorne-Smith are launching a rewatch podcast of the Fox drama.

Still The Place launched today, on the 32nd anniversary of the show’s launch. It comes from iHeartPodcasts.

Leighton, who played Sydney Andrews, Thorne-Smith, who played Alison Parker and Zuniga, who played Jo Reynolds will dissect each episode from the very beginning, share behind-the-scenes stories and interview special guests from the original cast and crew.

It comes after Deadline revealed in April that a reboot featuring Leighton and Zuniga, as well as Heather Locklear, was in the works at CBS Studios and was being shopped to networks and streamers.
