Unlike the riveting-to-watch characters in her Emmy-nominated Netflix dark comedy series “Dead to Me,” show creator Liz Feldman doesn’t seem to be intent on cutting anything out of her life. Instead, she’s adding to it with a 1920’s Spanish Revival-style house in Los Feliz she purchased in early April from screenwriter and producer Adam Sztykiel for nearly $4.8 million.
Sztykiel (“Rampage,” “Made of Honor,” “Due Date” and the “upcoming “Black Adam” starring Dwayne Johnson) and his wife, “Atomic Moms” podcaster Ellie Knaus, bought the historic property in 2017 for about $3.6 million and placed the house on the market in 2020, as Dirt previously reported. That means the couple netted about $1.2 million from the sale, prior to closing costs and taxes.

Television writer-producer Hilary Winston has sold a feature pitch to Paramount based on her upcoming book, "My Ex-Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me."
The "Bridget Jones's Diary"-style story is inspired by Winston's romantic misadventures. When she spotted a novel written by her ex while browsing at a bookstore, she began paging through it only to realize that the "fat-assed girlfriend" he referred to throughout was her.
This book is her response. Only hers, as she is quick to point out, is nonfiction.
Sterling Publishers is scheduled to publish "Ex-Boyfriend" in spring 2011.
Broadway Video is producing the feature, with Hilary Marx running point for the producers. Ashley Brucks will oversee the project for Paramount.
Repped by Icm, Winston is a co-executive producer on the NBC series "Community." She was a writer-producer on the NBC comedy series "My Name Is Earl" and a writer on the WB Network series "Blue Collar TV.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, we just discovered that Jamie Foxx has teamed up with comedic actor Affion Crockett for a new urban-flavored sketch-comedy show, which will air on the Fox network.
Fox has ordered a pilot for an untitled project executive produced by Foxx and fellow "In Living Color" scribes, "MadTV" creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small, with "Wild 'N Out" alum Crockett attached.
According to the report, the pilot is the result of merging two projects. Foxx was looking to do a sketch-comedy series with an urban twist and paired with Bahr and Small to pitch the idea to Fox.
Separately, Sony TV-based Tantamount was working on a sketch-comedy project starring Crockett, probably best known for his spoofs of Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Drake and Jay-z. Crockett also was attached to co-write with Carl Jones, a producer on Sony's animated comedy "The Boondocks," on which Jones...

My Name Is Earl writer Hilary Winston has inked a two-year premium development deal with Sony Pictures TV.
In the first year, she will be loaned out to 20th Century Fox TV to continue on Earl, where she will be bumped up to producer next season.
After high school, Texas-native Winston headed to Washington, D.C., to pursue a career in politics and a dream to become the first female U.S. president. She went to George Washington University and landed an internship at the White House during the Bill Clinton administration.
She then switched careers with a stint at NPR as a producer/editor that led to a decision to focus on writing full time.
Winston, repped by ICM and attorney Jared Levine, joined Earl in the first season as a story editor. Her previous writing credits include the WB's Blue Collar TV and Nickelodeon's Head to Toe.

'Night' falls at CMT for Foxworthy
CMT has collared Blue Collar TV star Jeff Foxworthy for his own series on the Viacom-owned cable channel. WB's 'Fran,' 'Blue Collar' put on hold
WB Network has benched the comedies Living With Fran and Blue Collar TV in an effort to rejuvenate its Friday and Sunday lineups, respectively. As of Friday, WB will shift 8:30 p.m. newcomer Twins to the 9:30 p.m. slot behind Reba, WB's highest-rated show on the night. The 8-9 p.m. hour will feature back-to-back episodes of What I Like About You. Fran, starring Fran Drescher as a woman who lives with her adult son and young boyfriend, has been failing to hold on to much of Reba's coattails in the 9:30 p.m. berth this season.

'Nanny' on hold while McRaney recovers
Gerald McRaney, star of Commando Nanny, Mark Burnett's upcoming comedy series for the WB Network, underwent surgery Monday to remove a small cancerous growth from his lung. The surgery, performed at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston was successful and McRaney is expected to fully recover within a month. In light of McRaney's medical situation, the WB and producer Warner Bros. TV have put the production start on Commando Nanny on hold. "The WB and WBTV wish Gerald a swift and total recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the set very soon," the network and the studio said in a statement. With the production delay, Commando Nanny will not make its scheduled Sept. 17 premiere, and the network plans to stick to its current Friday lineup of What I Like About You, Grounded for Life, Reba and a Blue Collar TV until Commando Nanny is ready to join the schedule later this fall. Earlier this month, the younger star of the show Philip Winchester broke his foot and was replaced with Owain Yeoman.

WB gets more of Foxworthy's 'Blue Collar'
The WB Network's sketch comedy Blue Collar TV has solidified its slot on the network's schedule with a full-season 22-episode order. The pickup will bring the total order for the series starring Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy to 30 half-hours. In May, the WB announced Blue Collar TV as part of its fall lineup with an eight-episode order for a summer trial run. Based on the show's solid performance in its three airings so far, the network picked it up for a full freshman season. Blue Collar TV is scheduled to go back in production next month to ensure a seamless transition between the summer episodes and the newly ordered batch.

'Comic' bright Thurs. for NBC as CBS rules night
CBS won every half-hour in primetime on Thursday all key measures, but NBC helped its cause by moving Last Comic Standing into the 9 p.m. hour. The WB also got some good news with a solid second outing of 8 p.m. sketch comedy Blue Collar TV. NBC's Thursday tryout of its Tuesday reality tentpole Comic paid off as the standup competition series improved by 41% on the peacock's track record this summer in the time period. Comic averaged 7.4 million viewers and 3.8 rating/11 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. Most impressive was Comic's spike from its 8:30 p.m. lead-in, a Will & Grace repeat (5.6 million, 2.5/8) against CBS? 9 p.m. encore of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (13.7 million, 4.4/13), which was the night?s most-watched program as usual.

'CSI,' convention strong for CBS Thursday
A repeat of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation helped give CBS the largest audience of the Big Three networks for John Kerry's big moment in primetime Thursday. Meanwhile, the WB Network did well, compared to its past track record on Thursdays, with the 8 p.m. debut of sketch comedy Blue Collar TV. CBS appeared to draw the largest audience of the Big Three networks in East Coast time zones for its live coverage of Kerry's speech accepting the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. Reliable national estimates for the live 10 p.m. EDT speech coverage won't be available until later today, but Nielsen Media Research's preliminary estimates indicate an audience of about 6.2 million viewers in East Coast markets for the primetime portion of CBS' Kerry coverage, compared to 5.3 million for NBC and 4.5 million for ABC.
