Bradford English had a screen acting career that spanned from 1971 to 2010, and over those 39 years he racked up more than 70 credits – but for many of us, he’s best remembered for playing the drunk, abusive blowhard John Strode in the 1995 horror sequel Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Sadly, we lost English right before Halloween this year, as it has been reported that he passed away on October 25th in Pasadena, California at the age of 82.
English was born in South Orange, New Jersey on January 16, 1942. His obituary can be found online and says he “was a true force of life and was filled with love. He was a husband and a family man who was survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart Cecelia Gail English. Together they created a beautiful family of four children: James Bradford English Jr., Jeffrey Brennan English, Kristin Lunney English and Colleen Margaret Theresa English.

The movie introduces us to the harrowing situation of ten young women on vacation in a seemingly idyllic tropical locale. Little do they know the alluring resort hiding a sinister secret—it’s actually a front for a criminal organization trafficking women into sexual slavery overseas.
One night, the women get drugged and taken prisoner, locked away in the damp basement of a compound run by the ruthless leader Andras and his band of goons. Among the kidnapped group are Karla, a nurse determined to protect the other captives, and Lucy, a resilient survivor haunted by past trauma.
While most of the women plunge into despair, Karla takes charge. Calmly examining their prison for weaknesses, she hatches an elaborate escape plan. But pulling it off won’t be easy, with their jailers on constant watch and deadly pursuit sure to follow any breakout attempt. Karla rallies the others with hopeful words,...

The terrific survivalist buddy actioner Shoot To Kill (1988), a.k.a. Deadly Pursuit, stands tall as one of the great under-appreciated genre flicks of its day. This riveting, rollicking ride, starring Sidney Poitier, Tom Berenger, Kirstie Alley and a cadre of capable character actors, will get its time in the sun right now. Buckle up.
At the start of Shoot To Kill, 22-year veteran FBI agent Warren Stantin (Poitier) is brought in to investigate a San Francisco diamond merchant smuggling out his own diamonds in the middle of the night. Stantin quickly intuits that the jeweler has done so under duress, and soon the beleaguered gentleman informs him that his wife is being held hostage by a mad gunman and he had been instructed to supply his own jewels for ransom collateral. The family dog has already bitten the bullet, so the jeweler knows the gunman means business.

Decades ago, in Uncanny X-Men #168, Kitty Pryde dared to say something bold yet true, “Charles Xavier is a jerk!” She was right, and the world has been better for it.
Professor Charles Xavier’s jerkdom transcends all media he has made an appearance in; it’s that powerful. He is an omega level clown, which is probably why he treats his X-Men like circus acts. You have to wow those humans in hopes of getting them to treat you like your mutant life matters, at least according to Xavier’s teachings. Now that X-Men: The Animated Series is available to stream on Disney+, here is a list of episodes filled with all of the Professor’s best-worst moments and how he is more of a danger to the X-Men than anyone else.

Laura Prepon has certainly moved on from her "That '70s Show" days -- since her time on the popular comedy, she's been in several movies and has had roles on multiple TV shows, including the illustrious title role of Chelsea in "Are You There, Chelsea?" Lest we forget that she also played notorious criminal Karla Homolka in the movie "Karla."
While that role was much darker, in a way it's kind of an appropriate segue to Prepon's casting as Alex Vause in Netflix's "Orange Is The New Black." Mysterious and unquestionably charismatic, Alex is the reason for main character Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling)'s imprisonment. Or at least, that's what Piper likes to believe.
As Alex, with her trademark red locks long gone, Prepon wields her jet-black hair like a weapon; it's representative of a shadier, more secretive character. HuffPost TV chatted with Prepon on a press tour in Toronto,...

"Girls" star Lena Dunham thought she was being cute and quirky when she responded to Mindy Kaling's tweet asking if she wanted to dress up as the West Memphis Three -- a trio of teenagers who many believe were wrongly convicted of murdering three boys in the '90s -- for Halloween along with B.J. Novak, but managed to offend people instead.
"You guys go as killer Canadian couple Paul Bernardo & Karla Homolka. I'll be her sister they murdered. Scariest! Luv U," she tweeted back at Kaling and Novak, without realizing her words would upset so many people.
The husband-and-wife serial killer duo, Paul Bernardo & Karla Homolka, were convicted of raping and killing at least three teenage girls in the early '90s, including Homolka's younger sister, and Bernardo is suspected of several other unsolved rapes. In honor of Mila Kunis doing, well, anything at all but, more specifically, getting partially naked in this week's Friends With Benefits, I figured we'd take a quick glance around at the former cast of "That '70s Show" and see who the big winner from the series really is. A few years ago, the obvious (and regrettable) frontrunner would be Ashton Kutcher, who has now transformed himself into a Twitter star, not a movie star. And rightfully so.
So here are the highlights of the show's major players and a brief listing of what each one of them has been doing since the show wound down in 2006. In most cases, the lists are neither lengthy nor notable. Still, let's start off with the former frontrunner turned douche, shall we?
Ashton Kutcher (as Michael Kelso): What Happens in Vegas; Valentine's Day; Killers; No Strings Attached.
His Next Move: Replacing Charlie Sheen...

Edgy 'Karla' gets Canadian release dates
TORONTO -- Quebec film distributor Christal Films on Tuesday said it has picked up the controversial U.S. teen killer film Karla for a Canada-wide release on Jan. 20. Christian Larouche, president of Montreal-based Christal, said he plans to release about 100 prints of Karla, a drama from Los Angeles-based Quantum Entertainment that stars Laura Prepon (That '70s Show) and Misha Collins as convicted schoolgirl killers Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. The duo terrorized a southern Ontario community during the early 1990s. The Montreal World Film Festival last August decided against giving Karla a world premiere as its opening night film after facing widespread opposition from festival sponsors. A spokeswoman for Cineplex Galaxy Cinemas, the Canadian exhibition giant, said Karla will screen on about 15 of its screens in major markets, including Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax. "We feel that our role as a film exhibitor is to make films available to the community and to let people decide if they want to see a film or not," she said.

Montreal festival won't run 'Karla'
MONTREAL -- Bowing to pressure from anxious sponsors, the embattled Montreal World Film Festival on Wednesday pulled a movie about an infamous Canadian schoolgirl killer from its upcoming lineup. The move came as the upstart New Montreal FilmFest introduced Toyota Canada and Quebec cable giant Groupe Videotron Ltd. as the main corporate sponsors for its inaugural edition in September. The Montreal World Film Festival said it will not screen, as previously announced, Karla, a biopic by U.S. director Joel Bender about Canada's most notorious serial killer, Karla Homolka. "In light of the reaction to its proposed showing of the film 'Karla, ' and the discomfort expressed by clients of its sponsors, MWFF organizers have decided against presenting the film," the festival said in a statement.

Montreal World to premiere Bender's 'Karla'
TORONTO -- The Montreal World Film Festival on Monday said it would give a world premiere next month to U.S. director Joel Bender's biopic about Canada's most notorious female serial killer, Karla Homolka. Karla, which stars Laura Prepon (The 70s Show) as Homolka and Misha Collins (24) as husband Paul Bernardo, will screen in Montreal before its fall theatrical release here. In 1993, Homolka and Bernardo tortured and murdered two Ontario schoolgirls in a case that gathered international attention because the rapes of the young women were captured and later shown in court on video camera. Homolka also helped Bernardo rape and murder her own sister.
