Just because someone cleans windows for a living doesn’t mean they can’t kick your ass when it counts. Daisy Ridley is ready to set her squeegee aside in favor of whichever weapon gets the job done in Cleaner, an action-packed thriller from director Martin Campbell. Quiver Distribution announced today that it has acquired North American rights to the Anton and Qwerty Films production Cleaner, set in, around, and on the side of one of the UK’s tallest buildings. Quiver will release the film in theaters on February 21, 2025.

Star Wars icon Daisy Ridley stars in Cleaner, based on a story she developed, alongside Clive Owen, who recently led the FX mini-series A Murder at the End of the World. The film takes Ridley and Owen into the dark heart of danger while innocent lives hang in the balance.

Max’s October 2024 lineup includes a new adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling vampire novel Salem’s Lot and the premiere of the eight-episode comedy series The Franchise starring Himesh Patel. Jordin Sparks hosts and Johnny Weir and Terrell Ferguson judge the new competition series Roller Jam debuting on October 10th. Novakovic arrives on the Chicago P.D. scene as Jo Petrovic, an enterprising new detective who joins the series' Central Intelligence Unit in Season 11 Episode 7, as she helps track down a serial killer.

A new actress has joined the Chicago P.D. cast and is featured in upcoming episodes.

It’s also worth noting that she shares the screen with Tracy Spiridakos, who is leaving the show this season.

Tracy has played Detective Hailey Upton for many years, but it was revealed that the character will soon leave Chicago.

The new season of Chicago P.D. has not yet addressed the upcoming Upton exit, but narrative seeds will likely be revealed soon.

In the meantime, Season 11 rolls on, with the finale coming up this May. The season will seem short because it is only 13 episodes long.

A brand new “The Boys” spinoff series, the second season of “Wheel of Time” and football highlight a robust lineup of new movies and shows coming to Amazon Prime Video in September. “Gen V,” a spinoff of “The Boys” set at a college, premieres on Sept. 29, while new episodes of “The Wheel of Time” Season 2 are rolling out all month long after the season premiere on Sept. 1.

Thursday Night Football is streaming starting Sept. 14, and a whole host of library movies worth checking out – from “Four Weddings and a Funeral” to “Dracula” to “10 Things I Hate About You” – are now streaming.

The highly discussed music limited series “The Idol” is set to premiere on Max on June 4. Starring Lily-Rose Depp, pop singer The Weeknd, and Dan Levy, the show involves a rising pop star Jocelyn (played by Depp) who gets involved with Tedros (The Weeknd), a sleazy nightclub owner who may also be a cult leader. She wants a rock career, while he’s focused on exploiting everyone he meets.

Lionsgate has nabbed global distribution for “Flight Risk,” an action-thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Mel Gibson. This will mark the first film Gibson has directed since his blockbuster ($175 million on a $40 million budget) and Oscar-nominated “Hacksaw Ridge” in 2016. The mini-major will be launching the project, featuring Wahlberg as a pilot transporting a dangerous criminal for trial, at Cannes.

“We love the undeniable electric pairing of Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg,” Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Joe Drake said. “These world-class talents combining for this dynamic, character-driven film will make ‘Flight Risk’ one of the most suspense-filled, must-see events of the year.”

Wahlberg and Gibson have starred in a few projects together, including “Daddy’s Home 2” and last year’s faith-based “Father Stu.” Considering the number of high-concept or true-story action movies Wahlberg has made with director Peter Berg over the last decade, it is a mild surprise that Gibson will be in charge.

Eva Green will reunite with her Casino Royale director Martin Campbell on Millennium Media’s action film and TIFF sales title Dirty Angels.

A+E Studios has entered into a multi-year first-look television development and production deal with management and production company Silver Lining Entertainment Productions.

Silver Lining, led by partners Jeff Golenberg, Sam Maydew and Rob Golenberg, already has a number of projects in development at A+E Studios. The company has acquired the podcast and underlying rights for Soul Incarcerated, a project based on the musicians in the band Edge of Darkness and the album they recorded while incarcerated, Eyes of Love. Dorian Missick, Warren Ostergard and Jamie Pietras are attached to produce, and a search for a writer is underway. Silver Lining also has set up End Times, a comedy about the rapture and those left behind, from Black List writer Brit McAdams, and female-driven thriller Nightshade from up-and-coming writer Jessica Granger.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and in many ways, that would be British producer Suzanne Mackie. As an executive producer on “The Crown,” she has spent the better part of the past 10 years working on the hit Netflix series, taking on her share of controversy along the way. But you’d be hard pressed to find a cooler head: never mind Claire Foy or Olivia Colman, Mackie is the only queen who will see the whole show across its six seasons.

Mackie, who is this year’s recipient of Variety’s Achievement in Intl. TV Award, has shepherded the royal family period piece from the earliest seedling of an idea — pitched when the streaming giant’s eye-watering originals drive was still in its infancy, riding high on “House of Cards” — to the Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy-winning, agenda-setting hit it’s become, both for Netflix and the U.

HBO Max is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in October and everything leaving at the end of the month.

The list includes HBO Originals like the limited series “The Undoing” starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, out Oct. 25, and David Byrne’s “American Utopia” special event about Byrne’s Broadway show that electrified audiences, out Oct. 17.

There is also Nathan Fielder’s comedic docuseries “How To With John Wilson,” out Oct. 23, and the first season finale of “Lovecraft Country” on Oct. 18.

Among the things leaving at the end of the month are “Amelie,” “Ocean’s 11,” “V For Vendetta,” “Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.”

With Lovecraft Country still providing HBO and HBO Max with its horror content through October, the streamer is looking elsewhere for its spooky season offerings. HBO Max’s new releases for October 2020 feature some truly awesome horror library titles.

Jordan Peele’s Us, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and David Fincher’s Se7en all arrive on Oct. 1. That alone should be enough to last you through spooky season. And if it doesn’t, It: Chapter Two is right there as well. October is also a big month for Batman and Superman with Man of Steel arriving on Oct. 1 along with a whole of animated specials dropping that same day.

In relation to the library titles, this isn’t HBO Max’s strongest month from an original perspective. But there is still plenty to like here. The West Wing election special arrives on Oct. 15. That will be followed by David Byrne...

HBO Max is serving up a lot of great new movies this October. Fittingly for the spooky season, the Warner Bros. streaming service is adding a fair few classic horrors to its library next month, but there’s really something for everyone going up – from comedies to romances to sci-fi to superhero films.

Speaking of that last genre, DC lovers will be pleased to note that 2013’s Man of Steel, the movie that kicked off the Dceu, is among the titles arriving on October 1st. Besides that, there’s a bunch of animated DC pics dropping the same day, including Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and All-Star Superman. 2005’s Constantine featuring Keanu Reeves, meanwhile, also debuts on the service from the 1st.

It’s a brand new month, and though it might seem like all hope is lost for 2020, at least streaming services have kept us occupied with plenty of stuff to watch. And like most platforms, Amazon Prime is dropping a ton of new movies on day one of July so that you can fill up your list and stay glued to your television. Not every flick releasing today is a winner, but you’re likely to find at least a handful of things you’re going to be dying to see.

For starters, Buried is an underrated Ryan Reynolds thriller launching on the service today, and if you can manage to sit through an hour and a half of a film that takes place entirely within a coffin, you’ll find a hell of a riveting experience. This extraordinarily tense pic tells the story of an American civilian truck driver...

As we get deeper into the summer, entertainment offerings are bound to start slimming – particularly in this pandemic era. Perhaps there’s no greater example of the oncoming drought than Amazon Prime’s list of new releases for July 2020.

Though the new options may be few and far between on Amazon this month, at least they pack a bit of a punch. In the case of Hanna season 2, that punch is quite literal. Esme Creed-Miles returns as the titular precocious super soldier. You can check out our review here. Beyond that, there are two intriguing Amazon original movies. The first is the Rosamund Pike-starring Radioactive and that arrives on July 24. Then there is the Dave Bautista film My Spy on July 26.

With HBO Max now on the scene, Amazon Prime is sure to lose some of its library titles. That can already be seen in the relatively sparse offerings for July.

With June drawing to a close, it’s time to look ahead to July. For Amazon Prime subscribers, next month brings a huge influx of new content, including a variety of movies both classic and underrated, as well as Amazon Original films and TV series.

Just a few of the notable movies arriving on the service include Jennifer Lopez tropical horror Anaconda, Tim Burton’s moving fantasy Big Fish, Dreamworks animated superhero flick Megamind, time-traveling Owen Wilson-starrer Midnight In Paris, romance Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist with Kat Dennings and Michael Cera, Adam Sandler comedy Spanglish, Rob Zombie horror The Devil’s Rejects and not one but two Will Smith vehicles – 2001 biopic Ali and 2005’s romcom Hitch.

Amazon is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in July.

New Amazon Originals include the second seasons of “Hanna” and “Absentia.” The 2019 Marie Curie biopic starring Rosamund Pike, “Radioactive,” is also coming, as a new comedy special from Jim Gaffigan called “Jim Gaffigan: Pale Tourist.”

Other existing movies that are being added include “Big Fish,” “Megamind,” “Pineapple Express” “Hitch,” “Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist,” “Vivarium,” and “The Weekend.”

Amazon Prime Video is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in January 2020.

New Prime Original, “Troop Zero,” is out Jan. 17. It stars Viola Davis and Allison Janney and “tells the story of a misfit girl dreaming of life in outer space but living in rural 1977 Georgia. When a national competition offers her a chance at her dream, to be recorded on Nasa’s Golden Record, she recruits a makeshift troop of Birdie Scouts, forging friendships that last a lifetime and beyond,” according to Amazon.

Other Prime Originals include the five-part docuseries “Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer,” out Jan. 31, and new standup special “Ilana Glazer: The Planet is Burning,” out Jan. 3.

Sylvester Stallone is back in Rambo’s bloodied shoes in the first trailer for Lionsgate’s “Rambo: Last Blood,” the fifth entry in Stallone’s action franchise that first started in 1982. Stallone found great success reviving his beloved “Rocky” franchise in 2015 with Ryan Coogler’s “Creed,” which grossed over $170 million worldwide, spawned a sequel in last year’s “Creed II,” and earned Stallone an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Can Stallone make the same lightning strike again with the “Rambo” franchise? That’s surely the intention.

Shia Labeouf and Mel Gibson have both signed on to star in the dark satire about New York’s super wealthy called Rothchild. Jon S. Baird (Stan and Ollie) is set to direct. Labeouf and Gibson are both fantastic actors who have each given some epic performances in their day, but have both had some issues surrounding their anger struggles and legal difficulties sounding them. Hopefully they can keep it together and pull out great performances for this movie.

Deadline reports that the film will focus on:

“charismatic outcast Becket Rothchild (Labeouf) plots his way back into his family’s riches, setting himself on a collision course with patriarch Whitelaw Rothchild (Gibson). On the way, he must infiltrate the weird and twisted lives of his super-rich kin including frat boys, hipster artists and reality TV stars.”

Joe Stapleton, a veteran Boston traffic reporter and actor who appeared in several films including Spotlight, Manchester by the Sea and Mystic River among others, has died. Stapleton died suddenly on New Year’s Day, according to WBZ News Radio, where he had worked until his death. He was 55.

Stapleton was one of the original “Traffic on the 3s” reporters at Wbz and appeared on WAAF’s Hill-Man Morning Show as Major Dick. He also worked as a traffic reporter for WBZ-tv Channel 4 and WHDH-tv Channel 7.

An avid movie fan and actor, Stapleton appeared in several films, beginning with 2003’s Oscar-winning Mystic River. He went on to play a police officer in Spotlight, a fire marshall who speaks with Casey Affeck’s character after a devastating fire in Manchester by the Sea, and he had small roles in Edge of Darkness and R.I.P.D., among others. He also appeared in Hulu’s Castle Rock.

Exclusive: Mattel Films has hired Kevin McKeon as Supervising Producer and he’ll report to Robbie Brenner who was recently hired as the label’s Executive Producer and Head.

McKeon will shepherd the development of feature film content for Mattel’s brands and other related creative content, and supervise during the production and post-production processes. He’ll also cultivate relationships with filmmakers and industry creatives for Mattel Films and its brands.

McKeon worked with Brenner previously most recently as a production executive at Unburdended Entertainment where Brenner was principal, and at Relativity Media’s independent label Relativity Squared (R2) where he served as a creative executive. He originally cut his teeth as Brenner’s assistant and worked with her during the production of the Oscar-winning film Dallas Buyers Club, for which she was nominated for best picture.

In the clip, we get to see Chan get in an awesome brutal fight with some bad dudes in the woods. As you'd imagine he lays the beat down on them. Then we have the new trailer which offers us some additional new footage from the film.
