A beautiful film, beautifully made. Elegant and enigmatic, like a piece of modern art or impressionism, the film leaves itself open for interpretation and discussion. The story is told with simplicity and nuance, unfolds with unexpected choices, and--by touching on themes of self-acceptance, self-loathing, and personal truth--it speaks to the human condition in ways that go beyond the specifics of this particular story, ensuring that its message is universal, relevant, and timeless. All first rate stuff from the writer-director, cast, and the entire creative team -- editing, lighting, set design, makeup, music, and cinematography.
For I Am Dead is a beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and amazingly scored short film. At only about 15 minutes long, it manages to capture the emotion, turmoil, and beauty of its lead characters. Truly a great film for such a short and compact final product. It's easy to see why it has accumulated so many awards at so many different international film festivals. Kudos to the director and producer Patricia Delso Lucas for an amazing job and to the lead actor, Al Nazemian, for bringing the lead role to life. Keep an eye out at a local theater for screening or hopefully on a streaming platform in the near future.
This film is a masterpiece. Al Nazemian's performance as Oscar lends life to the mysterious nature of desire. Nazemian's depiction of the torments of last love is one of the strongest performances in contemporary film. He deserves the highest commendations and the greatest awards for acting. The cinematography and score also function in perfect harmony with the plot, making this film a must-see.
I highly recommend For I Am Dead to anyone who is interested in an intoxicating story with great performances that continue to live with you after the final credits have rolled.
Ten out of ten stars.

The Luchino Visconti movies atmosphere , the beautiful nuanced performance of Al Nazemian the last temptation and the fall in death as a sort of new level of life, the wish to die and the answer offered by a presumed young gardener and by the women of his life.
A period drama, poetic, admirable crafted, seductive, inspired game of ambiguity. And the feeling about sparkles of your story , the film working, in some measure, as warning.
The basic virtue - its smart simplicity , defining, in precise terms, familiar realities , pieces from ourself.
In short, refinated poem, in which melancholia works impecable.

For I Am Dead is a high quality movie which is well directed and has very strong performances, Al Nazemian as Oscar gives a deep performance that stays with you after you leave the theater. What really captured my attention was the duality in the characters. It is almost like watching two different film in one, Al Nazemian captured both the lightness in the beginning and the extreme depth of his character in the end with just use of eyes. The movie stays with me days after I left the theater.
