Hallmark fans will recall the popular Signed, Sealed, Delivered star, Eric Mabius, or know him for his role in the ABC sitcom, Ugly Betty.

Now, Mabius has found himself behind bars after he was arrested on Thursday, February 20, in Florida.

According to TMZ, the actor who has also starred in Haul Out the Holly and its sequel, was arrested on Thursday and booked into Nassau County Jail and Detention Center before 6 am. Mabius is facing two misdemeanor charges: battery and resisting an officer without violence.

While so far, what has happened is unclear, Mabius’ mug shot reveals a cut by his right eye and the fact that he is not happy.

The Dcu has several projects in active development, including a live-action ‘Booster Gold’ TV series. James Gunn recently confirmed that the show is in active development but won’t begin production in the near future.

Despite this, rumors about casting the lead role have been circulating. Due to their connections with Dcu head James Gunn, both Antony Starr and Chris Pratt have been linked to the role of Booster Gold.

NexusPoint News has reported that Kumail Nanjiani has been cast as Booster Gold. However, it’s advisable to approach this news with caution as they haven’t provided substantial evidence to support the claim, apart from a vague social media post that suggests Nanjiani may now be involved with the Dcu.

Dcu has plenty of projects currently being in development and actively being worked on, and one of them is a live-action ‘Booster Gold’ TV series. Recently, James Gunn revealed that the show is being actively worked on but it’s not going to go into production anytime soon.

Still, this didn’t stop the rumors related to casting the titular character from spreading, and due to their connections to the Dcu head, James Gunn, both Antony Starr and Chris Pratt were connected to the character.

Now NexusPoint news reports that Kumail Nanjiani was cast as Booster Gold, but take this with a grain of salt considering that they failed to provide significant evidence to support the claim besides one X post that seems to imply that Nanjiani is now a part of a Dcu.

Erich Anderson, the familiar character actor who made his film debut in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, played Keri Russell’s father on Felicity and recurred on shows from Steven Bochco, has died. He was 67.

Anderson died Saturday after a “brutal struggle with cancer,” his wife of 21 years, actress Saxon Trainor, and her brother-in-law, Michael O’Malley, announced in an Instagram post.

In Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Anderson portrayed Rob Dier, who while attempting to avenge his sister’s death meets his brutal end at the hands of Jason in a basement.

He appeared as Dr. Edward Porter, father of Russell’s Felicity Porter, in the 1998 pilot for Felicity, then returned for eight more episodes of the WB network show during its four-season run through 2002.

Erich Anderson, a prolific television actor perhaps best known for his portrayal on Felicity as the title character’s father, died of cancer June 1 in Los Angeles. He was 67.

His death was announced on social media by wife and actor Saxon Trainor.

Launching his film career in 1984 with a role in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Anderson was also featured at the same time in the TV series Bay City Blues. TV guest appearances kept him busy for the next years, with roles on The Paper Chase, Tour of Duty, and Quantum Leap, among others.

In 1990 he landed a recurring role that would become one of his most recognizable: On seven episodes of thirtysomething, he played Billy Sidel, a romantic partner for Polly Draper’s Ellyn Warren. After a sometimes rocky path, the two characters were married late in the series.

NBC has ordered a drama pilot from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs.

The project is titled “Grosse Pointe Garden Society.” The official logline reads, “Four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.”

Bans and Krebs serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot. Bans will executive produce under her Minnesota Logging Company banner along with Casey Kyber. Universal Television, where both Bans and Krebs are under overall deals, will produce.

“Grosse Pointe Garden Society” was originally put into development at NBC back in 2022, while the network opened a writers’ room for the series in 2023.

Jack Axelrod, the actor who played the role of Victor Jerome on General Hospital, has died. He was 93.

Multiple reports indicate that Axelrod died on Nov. 28 of natural causes in Los Angeles.

Axelrod was featured on the ABC soap for 40 episodes between 1987 and 1989. He had previously made guest appearances in Kojak (1977), Hill Street Blues (1984), Dallas (1983), The Judge (1986), Dynasty (1987), Outlaws (1987) and Night Court (1989).

“I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with him in his last years, as he had no immediate family,” representative Jennifer Garland said in a statement to EW. “We spent much time outdoors, where Jack loved to sketch, read news articles, and recite Shakespearean sonnets.”

NBC has given a pilot order to “Murder by the Book,” a drama series starring Retta. The pilot is written by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs.

Per the logline, the series sees an Instagram famous book reviewer take a page from the murder mystery books she reviews and becomes an unlikely detective to uncover the shocking truths about an eccentric seaside town.

The project reteams Retta with Bans and Krebs as well as NBC. Retta starred in the NBC crime comedy-drama series “Good Girls,” which Bans created. Krebs served as a writer and executive producer. “Good Girls” ran for four seasons from 2018 to 2021.

“Murder by the Book” hails from Universal Television and Bans’ Minnesota Logging Company production banner. Bans executive produces and writes along with Bill Krebs, while Retta and Casey Kyber are non-writing executive producers.

Although he is known by most as the fourth-wall-breaking Zack Morris of Bayside High School, Mark-Paul Gosselaar has had many other roles under his belt since the finale of the original Saved By The Bell. While he never became a movie star, Mark-Paul Gosselaar maintained relevancy by guest starring in television dramas from 1994 to 2001 until being cast in more permanent TV parts. Since then, he has mostly upheld his career on the silver screen.

Before landing a recurring role on the popular police procedural television series NYPD Blue, Mark-Paul Gosselaar appeared in a few TV movies and proceeding spin-offs of Saved By The Bell - Saved By The Bell: The College Years and Saved By The Bell: The New Class. The eight-episode series is titled “Immigrant.” It will tell the true story of Banerjee, the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. The series will detail the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.

The series is written by Robert Siegel and executive produced by Siegel, Nanjiani, Limelight’s Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker, and Emily V. Gordon as well as Rajiv Joseph and Mehar Sethi, who will also write on the series. 20th Television will produce.

Jamie Tarses, who broke the glass ceiling for female TV executives as the first woman to run a network entertainment division, passed away this morning from complications stemming from a cardiac event she suffered last fall, according to her family. She was 56.

A superstar TV executive, Tarses was instrumental in developing such iconic shows as NBC’s Friends and Frasier and reached the pinnacle of the network programming executive ladder by age 32, becoming president of ABC Entertainment. Young and phenomenally successful, Tarses transcended the media business to become a bona fide celebrity who was both admired and scrutinized. The enormous pressure of the job and relentless media attention took a toll on her tenure, which Tarses followed with a successful second career as a TV producer of such popular shows as ABC’s Happy Endings, TBS’ My Boys, TNT’s Franklin & Bash and Amazon Prime Video’s The Wilds.

The McU has a well documented track record using an intense diet and fitness regimen to turn its actors into something resembling the implausibly jacked comic book counterparts of the characters they portray. One of the latest to come out the other side of such a regime, though, Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani, has been on the receiving end of steroid use accusations.

Prior to joining the McU, it wouldn’t be uncharitable to suggest that Nanjiani was not in the best of shape. He was most well known for a variety of comedic roles, primarily in TV shows Franklin & Bash and Silicon Valley, such parts being where actors not fitting into American media’s absurdly narrow standards of conventional attractiveness often find acceptance (which leads to a whole other conversation that I don’t have the time or space to go into).

The new “Saved by the Bell” announces the kind of comedy it wants to be from the very start, opening with a campaign ad from California Governor Zack Morris (played with a Republican smarm that doesn’t really exist anymore by Mark-Paul Gosselaar). The spot, which feels like it was produced by the same team who worked on Bobby Newport’s “Parks & Recreation” ads, acts as the extremely thin connective thread from the original series to this 2020 “reimagining. Since leaving Bayside nearly 30 years ago, Zack is still, in the parlance of the Funny or Die series, trash, since his rise to the Governor’s mansion was all part of an elaborate scheme to get out of a $75 parking ticket. This sequence also immediately tears down the fourth wall, as Morris mentions that after college he “became a successful trial attorney” with a shot of Gosselaar (flanked by Breckin Meyer) as...

Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), Kelly (Tiffani Thiessen), Slater (Mario Lopez) and Jessie (Elizabeth Berkley) are back at Bayside (in one way or another) for Peacock’s “Saved by the Bell” reboot, just in case you were running short on things to be thankful for this year. But of course, the O.G. Tigers are in their mid-40s now — enter the new new class.

Among the fresh-faced crop of kids is Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez), one of the students being bussed into the affluent area after California Gov. Zack Morris (you read that right) shut down a bunch of inner-city schools as a snap-decision budget cut. Not only is Daisy now roaming Zack’s old halls, but she’s even using his “timeout” power, freeze-framing the whole damn scene.

Exclusive: NBC has put in development a father-daughter murder mystery drama from Blindspot creator/executive producer Martin Gero and executive producer Alex Berger, as well as Universal TV, where Gero and his Quinn’s House are under an overall deal.

Written by Berger, in the drama, when a dogged young reporter witnesses the murder of her sister, she launches an investigation to find the people responsible, enlisting the help of her estranged father – a legendary but reclusive investigative journalist.

Berger executive produces with frequent collaborator Gero. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.

Gero created, executive produced and served as showrunner, and Berger served as executive producer on the NBC/Wbtv drama Blindspot which recently aired its fifth and final season. Character actor Reni Santoni, who played Poppie the restaurant owner on Seinfeld, has died at the age of 81, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Santoni passed away Saturday while in hospice care in Los Angeles following years of health problems that included cancer.

Born in New York City, Santoni gained fame with film roles like Dirty Harry, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid and Cobra. He also notched TV credits including Hill Street Blues, Moonlighting, Miami Vice and Murder, She Wrote. But he was perhaps best known for his four appearances as Poppie on Seinfeld, beginning with 1994’s “The Pie.”

If you haven't heard the news yet, the late and great female-led baseball series, Pitch, has dropped on Hulu, and we at TV Fanatic are excited about it.

PItch was one of the greatest new series to come out of 2016. It was a critical darling, and it racked up an excited, devout fanbase that only grew as the series progresses.

Gordon has written for The Carmichael Show and Crashing but notably co-created the live L.A. comedy show The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail which was later adapted for TV on Comedy Central.

The CW’s new Walker, Texas Ranger won’t be a lone Ranger, it turns out.

The 100 star Lindsey Morgan has joined the cast of Walker, the upcoming reboot starring Supernatural‘s Jared Padalecki, our sister site Variety is reporting. Morgan will play Walker’s new partner, one of the first women in the history of the Texas Rangers.

Garcelle Beauvais is about to make history as the first black woman to join the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Sutton Stracke joins her as the second cast member added to season 10 following Lisa Vanderpump’s exit in the ninth season after feuding with costars.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Jacki Weaver will join Naomi Watts and Andrew Lincoln in the family drama “Penguin Bloom.”

Weaver will portray the mother of Watts’ character in the drama, which follows a young family on Sydney’s northern beaches who must come to terms with a near-fatal accident that leaves their mother paralyzed. As they learn to adjust to her new situation, an unlikely ally enters their lives in the form of an injured Magpie chick, dubbed “Penguin” by the family.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has boarded the upcoming ABC comedy “Mixed-ish.”

“Mixed-ish,” a spinoff of “Black-ish,” focuses on the experience of Tracee Ellis Ross’s character, Rainbow Johnson, growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s. Gosselaar will play the role of Bow’s father, taking over from Anders Holm, who played the role in the original pilot.

This marks Gosselaar’s fourth broadcast series starring role in recent years. He most recently starred on the Fox shows “The Passage” and “Pitch” as well as the NBC comedy “Truth Be Told.” He is also known for his roles on shows like “Franklin & Bash,” “NYPD Blue,” and “Saved by the Bell.”

He is repped by Wme, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.

Gosselaar joins a cast that includes Arica Himmel as Bow Johnson, Tika Sumpter as Alicia Johnson, Christina Anthony as Denise, Mykal-Michelle Harris as Santamonica Johnson and Ethan Childress as Johan Johnson.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has been tapped as the male lead in ABC’s new comedy series Mixed-ish. In the Black-ish prequel about young Rainbow Johnson, Gosselaar will play Bow’s father Paul Johnson. He replaces Anders Holm who played the role in the original backdoor pilot episode of Black-ish. Gosselaar only became available in May when his most recent series, Fox’s vampire drama The Passage, was canceled after one season.

Written by Peter Saji and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, in Mixed-ish, Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross) recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s and the constant dilemmas they had to face over whether to assimilate or stay true to themselves.

If the voice of Pawny, the pocket-sized, scene stealing green alien in Men in Black: International sounds familiar to you, there's a good reason for that. Pawny is voiced by actor, comedian, and Oscar-nominated writer Kumail Nanjiani, who has appeared in an impressive number of critically acclaimed television shows and movies.

You may have first heard Nanjiani's distinctive voice as part of the 2011 video game podcast The Indoor Kids, which he cohosted at one point with his wife, Emily V. Gordon. He also made regular guest appearances on Community and Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon's podcast Harmontown.

In 2011, we also saw Nanjiani cast as agoraphobic attorney Pindar Singh on the TNT series Franklin & Bash, where he would continue to play a supporting role until the show's third season in 2014. Pindar was extremely smart, yet socially awkward and anxious, traits that have been shared among several of the characters Nanjiani has portrayed.

James’ fate may be hanging in the balance on Supergirl, but we’ve got some news that should give you a little hope. Azie Tesfai, who makes her recurring debut as James’ sister Kelly Olsen on the CW drama this Sunday (8/7c), will be a full-fledged series regular next season, TVLine has learned.

And although things may not have worked out between Kara and James, let’s just say that a Danvers-Olsen romance may still be in the cards. (That hint not big enough for you? Perhaps the photo to the right will help.)

TNT’s executive vice president of original programming Sarah Aubrey has been named the head of original content for WarnerMedia Streaming Service.

Kevin Reilly, president of TBS and TNT and chief creative officer for Turner and WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer, made the announcement on Thursday.

In addition, Reilly also named Brett Weitz general manager for TBS and TNT. Weitz was previously executive vice president of programming for TBS.

Aubrey joined TNT in 2015 as a member of the new executive team under Reilly and was responsible for overseeing all development and production of original and limited series. Prior to joining TNT, she was a television and film producer.
