When the family and Sabrina are gathered outside watching old home movies, Burt remarks that a much younger Maw Maw in the videos looks like "the horny neighbor from Mary Tyler Moore." This is an obvious nod to the fact that Cloris Leachman, who plays Maw Maw, in fact played that horny neighbor - Phyllis Lindstrom - and even had a spin-off. Younger Maw Maw's hairstyle is even made to look like Phyllis Lindstrom's did on MTM.
