March is already looking to be a good month, with a slew of horror content making its way to Hulu, including chilling new releases, classic scares, and must-watch thrillers. Among the new arrivals is the horror thriller Control Freak, starring Kelly Marie Tran. It's a Hulu original movie that should definitely be added to everyone's watchlist.
We first learned about this film back in April 2024 when it was announced that Sweet Tooth actress Kelly Marie Tran and Halloween's Miles Robbins had signed on to star. While an official release date wasn’t provided at the time, it was confirmed that the movie would debut in early 2025. Now, we finally have the release date. Control Freak is slated to be released on Hulu on Thursday, March 13, 2025. With March right around the corner, you want to make sure not to forget the date. Better yet, it's probably best that you mark it down in your calendar.

Despite her young age, Kiernan Shipka's best movies and TV shows show just how long she has been around and the impressive career she has built. The American actor started her career at a young age, proving herself one of the most acclaimed child actors on television as Sally Draper in Mad Men. However, she escaped the trap many child actors have found themselves in as she continued working and began to earn teenage roles as well as young adult roles.
Shipka has proven herself a lead actor, starring in fan-favorite series as well as winning comedies. She has also had standout supporting roles in a number of movies, including several of the biggest titles of the last year. With her adult acting career only getting started, it is clear there will be many great projects to come from Shipka, but her best movies and TV shows already show her talents.

Christmas romance movies are a classic addition to the list of films that are perfect to watch during the holiday season. There are many familiar favorites that audiences return to year after year, like It's A Wonderful Life, Love Actually, and Elf, but there are just as many overlooked romantic holiday movies that are perfect for new traditions. Whether they're recent rom-coms that subvert expectations and challenge the genre or older movies that never reached the heights of popularity as other classics, these movies all bring the nostalgia and warmth of the season.
Most romantic holiday films make up the best Christmas movies without Santa, as these projects focus on character and use the holiday season as a sentimental and cozy setting. The look and feel of a Christmas movie are of the utmost importance, as viewers should feel as though they've been transported into the winter wonderland of their dreams.

Sweethearts marks Kiernan Shipka’s fifth 2024 movie release, showing another prolific year for the active actress. Sweethearts’ early reviews praise its leads’ chemistry and the script’s subversive writing and dialogue. Shipka stars alongside Booksmart’s Nico Hiraga in the New Line Cinema college rom-com comedy about two best friends who make a deal to break up with their high school partners on Thanksgiving. Shipka’s Sweethearts character contrasts strikingly with her other 2024 roles, deviating from the actress’ usual horror and dramatic parts, and demonstrating she can offer an easygoing and comedic performance.
Shipka got her start at age 7 and currently has over 53 credits — many of which she took on even before landing her popular role of teen witch Sabrina Spellman in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Her most notable projects include playing Jon Hamm and January Gones’ daughter, Sally Draper, in Mad Men, as well as voicing Jinora in The Legend of Korra.

Estonia’s Jevgeni Supin from Zolba Productions, credited for the first Estonian Viaplay original “Who Shot Otto Mueller,” has unveiled his slate of five high-end dramas, including “My Dear Mother” repped by Film.UA Group and “Von Fock,” due to world premiere at Tallinn TV Beats’ first Screening Day on Nov. 20.
Supin’s extensive slate and the caliber of his TV projects, all framed as international co-productions, reflect both his ambition to set Estonian -and Baltic- drama on the global map and his pioneering breakthroughs in co-production.

Hollywood constantly brings a new generation of stars to the horror genre in an effort to draw in younger viewers and provide an abundance of thrills. One example of this is Tarot, the latest horror film from Sony Pictures that stars a number of well-known up-and-coming actors. The cast features Jacob Batalon from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avantika Vandanapu, the breakout cast member from Mean Girls.
Well, Tarot has caused quite a stir in the horror community as it heads to digital platforms much sooner than expected. Despite earning over 4 times its budget of $8 million, many horror fans are feeling slighted by the decision to release the film online so quickly.

More background fluff from the streamer, this time from Mean Girls director Mark Waters with a splashy Thailand location
Despite experience mostly insisting caution, certain markers still allow one to naively daydream that a new Netflix comedy might be worth more than a background half-watch while ironing. A big name, an experienced writer, a genuine studio-trained director, some substantive source material, anything to allow us to glide on the brief hope that we’re not in hammy, Hallmark-adjacent territory.
This thinking sometimes works – 2019’s Let It Snow was based on a solid YA novel, 2021’s Moxie had Amy Poehler in front of and behind the camera, this year’s Players benefited from the considerable charm of star Gina Rodriguez – but it too often makes precious little difference. Isabela Merceds New Movie Is A Reminder To Watch Her Previous John Green Adaptation From 5 Years Ago

Isabela Merced shines in Turtles All the Way Down, her second John Green adaptation after Let It Snow. Both Turtles All the Way Down and Let It Snow received high critical acclaim on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and audiences alike. Turtles All the Way Down is the most well-received John Green adaptation, while Paper Towns remains the weakest.
While Isabela Merced's powerful performance in Turtles All the Way Down elevates the film, the movie also isn't the first time she's starred in a John Green book-to-screen adaptation. Penned by Green, the bestselling Turtles All the Way Down centers on Merced's Aza Holmes, a teenager living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (Ocd). More often than not, Aza obsesses over the idea of the human microbiome and other unseen organisms, which leads to intrusive thoughts about C. diff and other life-threatening diagnoses. However, managing her Ocd becomes complicated when Aza reunites with former pal...

More often than not, Aza obsesses over the idea of the human microbiome and other unseen organisms, which leads to intrusive thoughts about C. diff and other life-threatening diagnoses. However, managing her Ocd becomes complicated when Aza reunites with former pal...

Turtles All the Way Down earns the highest critical score for any John Green adaptation on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics praised the movie for its authentic Ocd portrayal, a delightful coming-of-age story, and a standout performance by Isabela Merced. Some critics noted tonal imbalance with the love story and mystery.
Max's Turtles All the Way Down earns the highest critical Rotten Tomatoes score of any TV show or film adapted from John Green's books. The new movie is based on Green's 2017 novel of the same name, which follows Aza Holmes (Isabela Merced), a 16-year-old struggling to navigate high school and relationships while living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (Ocd). The novel is often considered one of Green's best works, given how it raises awareness of mental health disorders with its authentic depiction of anxiety and Ocd. Hence, many readers wondered how the film adaptation would compare to the acclaimed novel.

The sci-fi thriller M3GAN (read our review Here, get a copy Here) was such a financial success when it reached theatres in January of last year, it didn’t even take Universal Pictures and production companies Blumhouse and Atomic Monster two weeks to announce that they’d be re-teaming for a sequel. We’ve known that M3GAN stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw will be reprising their roles in M3GAN 2.0, which is set to reach theatres on May 16, 2025, and now Deadline reports that they’re being joined in the cast by Ivanna Sakhno, who is said to have landed a major part in the sequel.

Ahsoka's Ivanna Sakhno is joining M3GAN 2.0's cast in a major role. The sequel will also feature returning stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw. Ivanna Sakhno is also known for roles in titles including High Fidelity and The Reunion.
M3GAN 2.0 has added one of the stars of Disney+'s Ahsoka to the cast. The upcoming movie is a sequel to one of 2023's biggest horror success stories. The original movie followed roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams) giving her newly orphaned niece Cady (Violet McGraw) a robotic companion named M3GAN whose attempts to protect the girl quickly turned deadly. The movie was a smash hit, earning $181 million worldwide against its $12 million budget, so a sequel was quickly greenlit. Reminiscing about the glory days of youth? Don’t. Bestselling author John Green — whose work has spawned a legion of big- and small-screen adaptations — certainly doesn’t. In Green’s stories, teenagehood is hard enough (and then some) as his beloved characters go through puberty, prom, and first love in tandem with far bigger worries ranging from cancer to obsessive compulsive disorder. People go missing, people aren’t ever found, people die.
It’s not exactly the stuff of popcorn entertainment, but Green’s stories always place a premium on the viewpoint of the kids who experience them and the youngsters who observe them. Being a teenager? It’s not for the faint of heart. Being a Green teen? Well, at least someone is treating you like an adult.
The latest Green adaptation, “Turtles All the Way Down,” offers yet another sterling example of that mindset and the power of it.

Keanu Reeves has been at the forefront of some of cinema's most important franchises, including "The Matrix" and "John Wick." Even one of his biggest bombs has, against all odds, also become a franchise. Reeves starred in Universal's tremendously expensive blockbuster "47 Ronin" back in 2013. It was a major flop at the time and actually hurt the actor's career a bit. But nearly a full decade later, everything came full circle, and a sequel to that flop was released. Yes, was! As in, it already came out ... last year.
"Blade of the 47 Ronin" is a sequel to the movie in question, and debuted in 2022. One would be forgiven for not realizing it, as it wasn't quite as big as the original, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, Reeves didn't return for the follow-up, but for those who enjoyed that film, there is a sequel out there you can watch right now.

On October 25, 2023, the Daily Mail posted an image depicting Art the Clown from the popular "Terrifier" slasher series in his holiday best — a Santa hat and the flayed face of Kris Kringle himself, wielding an axe in front of a Christmas tree. The bottom of the poster had "Damien Leone's Terrifier 3" listed as the title. Considering the abundance of fan art made from the film series, there was debate whether or not this was leaked promotional material or just a well-made bit of fantasy booking. Well, Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse have cleared the air to confirm that the poster was legitimate, and that "Terrifier 3" will be a Christmas horror movie.
The announcement comes paired with the theatrical re-release of the 2022 hit "Terrifer 2" on November 1, 2023, which will include an exclusive sneak peek teaser for the holiday horror slasher. "For those of you speculating that the 'Terrifier 3' teaser...

All the returning characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home, from the MCU and elsewhere, helped to turn it into the biggest Spider-Man adventure yet. The third MCU Spider-Man movie further opened the door to the multiverse leading to all kinds of fun opportunities for who might appear. From villains to allies, the cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home is impressive, with several characters from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man films coming back to wreak some havoc on Peter Parker’s life. As much as it is still Tom Holland's movie, he is joined by a lot of returning characters in No Way Home.
Set in the aftermath of Mysterio leaking Peter Parker’s identity as Spider-Man, Spider-Man: No Way Home sees the teenage hero go to Doctor Strange for help fixing his situation. What begins as a simple spell gets out of...

Screen Rant is thrilled to exclusively present the trailer for the new series Temple. Based on the hit Norwegian series Valkyrien, Temple follows Daniel Milton (Mark Strong), a talented surgeon pushed to the brink. When his wife is diagnosed with a terminal degenerative disease, he does everything he can to save her. But when conventional medical treatments don't work, he searches for other options. Daniel teams up with Lee (Daniel Mays) to start a literal underground, off-the-books clinic in the tunnels beneath London's Temple tube station.
Eventually, they are joined by Anna, a guilt-ridden medical researcher, and Jamie, a young fugitive. Daniel and his team treat those who either can't or refuse to seek medical treatment from the legitimate healthcare system. While Daniel tries to balance his team, his attempts to save his wife, and his ever-swaying moral boundaries, his own desperation could be what brings everything crashing down around him.
