The last weekend of April, and the “slower” spring movie season is ending this weekend, leading directly into the start of the lucrative summer box office next week. As has been the case in past years, the last couple weekends in April see a couple movies hoping to bring in any amount of money before the first big summer blockbuster, and other movies that will steal away their theaters. Last weekend was pretty sad, but hopefully a few of this weekend’s movies will fare better.

The movie that stands the best chance at finding an audience this weekend is the tech industry thriller The Circle...

"It all ends here! No more lies!" Beacon Pictures and Broadvision Entertainment have released an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Grey Lady, from director/actor John Shea. The movie stars Eric Dane (seen in Marley & Me, Valentine's Day, "Grey's Anatomy", "The Last Ship") as a Boston police officer who goes to Nantucket to investigate the murder of his partner, but discovers more than he bargained for. The cast includes Natalie Zea as a woman he befriends who helps him around the town, plus Amy Madigan, Adrian Lester, Carolyn Stotesbery, Chris Meyer, and Rebecca Gayheart; as well as director John Shea in a small role. This looks pretty much straight-to-tv quality, but it is surprisingly going to theaters. On Aug. 16, one of cinema's best babysitting adventures, Uncle Buck, will celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The John Hughes comedy tells the story of the Russell family; mom and dad need someone to look after their three kids Asap. Short on options, Uncle Buck – a sloppy and crass city dweller – is recruited at the last minute. Expertly played by the late John Candy, Buck tackles giant pancakes, power drills and a game of endless questions with Macaulay Culkin, proving crazy uncles have some serious skills.

A quarter of a century later, Uncle Buck still brings the laughs and warm, fuzzy feelings.

Hustle's Adrian Lester has joined the Grey Lady.

The film will be directed by Mutant X's John Shea.

The Grey Lady follows a plainclothes Nantucket detective dealing with a killer on the loose, Deadline reports.

Lester will play Johnson, the detective who is on a mission to make the island safe.

Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy) and Natalie Zea (Justified) will also star.

Lester's credits include Primary Colours and As You Like It.
