I tried - I really did - to follow the characters and action in this mess, but it's impossible. I'm pretty well versed in "The Bloomsbury Set" - the people, their contributions to 20th century arts & letters - novels, paintings, criticism, publishing- but even with this background, I couldn't keep track of the actions from scene to scene, let alone from episode to episode.
Constantly switching back and forth between younger and older versions of the principals-portrayed by different actors- as they hopped in and out of multiple beds, made it impossible to follow the actions, motivations, relationships and artistic development that this series is supposed to portray. After a few attempts to sort it out, it became clear that it wasn't worth the effort.

I thought it had promise, but it ultimately left me disappointed.
