Like so many other contemporary drama/mystery series produced lately, Private Eyes fell victim to the same fate of concentration on being a vehicle for the social justice crowd. The weak producers and writers took what could have been a hit series with stories that appealed to all audiences and instead chose to weave amoral subjects into what they saw as typical relationships. This was such a failed effort that even the Canadian audiences grew uninterested quickly and thus limited the series to five short seasons (which was honestly three too many.)

I found this show by pure chance, and thought i'd give it a go.
The second I saw/heard Jason Priestley open his mouth, i knew that this would be a bit of a dud. The premise of the show sounds fun- very Castle/Lethal Weapon/Mentalist like, but is wholly let down by really bad acting (think Scorpion). Cindy Sampson is objectified at every possible moment, with a skimpy/bust enhancing outfit and pouty lips. she cant act either.
this is one of those shows you watch, when you dont want to think or just happy to have on in the background.

Really tried to like this show. The first couple episodes were pretty good, first one especially. Just cannot seem to tolerate the smug arrogance of the male lead here, although I do enjoy the other characters who seem genuine. Something about a cocky little man who thinks he is a gift to all that irritates me enough to stop watching. He definitely does not look or act like any ex hockey players I have seen or known. Like the premise and show ideas, especially his special needs very capable daughter and the female lead who emanate strength and are believable in their roles, both lacking in the male lead.
