I didn't even see the title, all i noticed was that it was a Bad Wolf production, so i was hooked in....... Not sure what's happened at Bad Wolf but this misses more than it hits.
Woke from start to finish is probably the best thing i can say about this. The characters are unbelievable, the plot even more so and overall the production seems to have been robbed from 'Peaky Blinders' and put through the wringger.
Now admittedly at the start they say it's a fiction.....well that's the truth. They've taken liberties with just about everything of that period, which is a shame, as you just know the younger generation, (who will end up watching this), will think that's what it was like just over 100 years ago.....here's a spoiler for you...IT WASN'T.
If you manage to make the entire series apply to his majesties government for a medal, you deserve it.
Please Bad Wolf assign this to the bin.

With a cast like this i expected a lot, and sadly i felt as if the film just couldn't quite fire on all cylinders.
The set dressing was superb, it felt like that they'd actually taken over the Vatacan to film it. It's rich in colour, oozes culture even.
Ralph Finnes did a more than passable job; but all in all for a quite some time it just didn't seem to get the level of intrigue right (for me at least) and at times i was even bored.....but then came the twist....and that's all i'm going to tell you, and man'o'man, what a twist. Hence I've rated it at a 7, otherwise it would have struggled to a 5!

I find with franchise films they rapidly run out of steam and before you know it they become the same ol' same ol'. I'm thinking of Alien here. But like latest Alien, the recent episode of the Predator bucks that trend.
Without giving too much away this one takes us back to the Wild Wild West of the early 1800's but isn't about the cowboy, it's the indigenous native Americans.
The predator is the same, they have future technology that should make them invincible......however!
And this is where the film reverts to "it does what it says on the tin" format, and does it well. Just who is the predator and who is the prey?
There are some jump out of your seat moments, and a few ewww! You'll get sucked in with very believable characters and some pretty good but understated CGI.
Apparently there are some historical inaccuracies, but to be honest I didn't notice them, or they didn't really make that much difference to my enjoyment of this latest Predator.
I highly recommend it.
