Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie (2023)
Great and perfect like always do.
Please create sequels for this movie. If its TV show had its own great time and, at the same time, doesn't want to 'ruin' it with a new 'refreshed' TV show, it's better to continue with movies instead. I've seen a lot of good shows that ended a long time ago, and when renewed with today's standards, it ruins the hype and greatness of the old days, contributing to low ratings, as seen with 'Frasier.' This movie should have a higher budget and recognition, similar to other Hollywood crime-solving movies like 'Knives Out' or Hercule Poirot movies such as 'Murder on the Orient Express.'
The writer is already well-known and very good; the only thing missing here is an overall higher budget and a cinematic standard. Don't get me wrong-I love this movie, but it still looks like an episode of the 'Mr. Monk Show.' I hope the producer and movie makers consider these ideas and advice from a fan.
This Fool (2022)
Good promising show with great comedy. Luis, that guy hilarious.
One of the main reasons I started watching and continue to enjoy this show is because of Frankie Quinones, who plays Luis in the series. I discovered him for the first time through this show, and he had me laughing out loud right from the start. His portrayal of the character is superb, and his hilarious lines and dialogues really stand out. He shines in portraying the Mexican character, and I believe he has a promising future in comedy. Kudos to the casting department or whoever brought him on board for this show.
The series explores the theme of family influence, connections, and relationships, making you appreciate the bond with your siblings even more. However, I do hope that Chris Estrada, who plays Julio and is also the creator or writer of the series, polishes his acting skills further, as I feel there's room for improvement in his performance.
Beef (2023)
Unexpected Ending.
I was hooked from the beginning till the end of each episode. It's very rare with TV series nowadays because most of them end with a cliffhanger, making me want to pause it and do other stuff before resuming. But not with this show, "Beef". Credit goes to the lead actors who give a perfect impression of the characters they are portraying.
Credit also goes to the writers, or writer, because there was so much detail and information to grasp in just one episode, something that is uncommon with other TV shows. All the stories are properly crafted and well-connected with the ending of the season. So far, Koreans are the kings of storytelling and dramas, and you will be satisfied with their TV series and movies.
Succession: Connor's Wedding (2023)
An Emotional Rollercoaster with Unexpected Twists
It is truly heartbreaking that the last heart-to-heart conversation between Logan and his children took place in an unexpected place. This underscores the importance of valuing the advice and expressions of love from our parents because we never know when it might be their last words. Despite Logan's tendency to compete with and undermine his children, the fatherly love he had for them deep down will always endure.
When our parents pass away, no matter how much we may have disliked them during their lifetime, our true colors will reveal themselves. This episode has presented me with two perspectives: the first is that the children are still grieving their father's death and are not concerned with anything else, while the second point is that, there are some people who are not related to the family and don't really care about the family's grieving state. They are busy focusing on making money, just like it's a normal situation for them and there's nothing "big" about it.
*Btw, I apologize for any mistakes in my English as it is not my first language.
Extraordinary (2023)
Extraordinary
One of the best show so far for me. I have been watching a lot of Tv Series recently, mostly comedy type. I'm not into drama romance type of series, because sometimes it will became lame, and always repeat the same story lines., but this exceptional. This shows always catchy from the start, and very good in story/writing. This show sould get more recognization and more rating.
UK based tv show always got that kind of humour that I actually like compare to US based series. No cliche', just pure great stories and twist. The actors and actress all can act and very funny type of cast, and cringe at all. The moment of surprise put into story like this, I like it a lot, which means, thumbs up for the writers and director.
Kajino (2022)
Best tv show so far.
I have been watching a lot of Tv Series recently, from crime, action, adventure, drama, comedy, and this show got all of it. I'm not into drama romance type of series, because sometimes it will became lame, and always repeat the same story lines. This shows always catchy from the start, and very good in story/writing. I always wait every week for this show, and every episode was worth it. This show sould get more recognization and more rating.
This was my second Korean Tv Series after Squid Games, and I love it already eventhough just 5 episodes. No cliche', just pure great stories and twist. The actors that played the charactors also is a well known, so nothing to critics on acting, because they was genuinely can act. And actually, I just want to see Choi Min-sik act (because, I know him from Oldboys), and what a pro actor he was.
Sprung (2022)
Great Comedy, like My Name Is Earl vibes.
There is no such comedy as Sprung nowadays. Some crazy things like this only happen in movies/series around the 90s and 00s. Nowadays, writers are trying hard to sell jokes through dialogues and actions.
Every episode, like watching movies. Hook till the end. Good editing and only a few fillers. Every episode is not wasted, all pure storyline.
Humour are broad matter, not only depends on great lines, but the characters too. Most importantly, how good an actor/actress can perform such comedy, that's the hard one. For me, the cast is great and just nice. We know they were funny, only appearance and habits can tell that.
Credits to the Director too, because he works hard to produce such quality Comedy Series like the old days. I hope next season, the director and writers can come up with a different approach but the same goal like this season, and most importantly, no cliche stories.
The Outlaws (2021)
The best among the best, and so fresh.
The best show so far. IMDB rating gives 7.7 (during the time of this posting). I have been watching many TV series, and I don't know why, other tv series with pointers above 8 (comedy, mostly from US-based), are way worse and should not get 8.
The Outlaws got low pointers, not because of the series, and it is because it is from the 'UK' and British spoken language, and not got enough credits from the viewers around the globe. This series was very good in writing/directing as well as the actors/actress. The actor and the actress are too good to be true, and everything seems real.
Personally, This series should get at least 8.4 on IMDb.
Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan (2022)
Too overhype. Not worth watching in cinema. The late Mamat Khalid Movie version better, real kampung-look style.
Lead actor Adi Putra has decent lines and good choreography in fighting, and at the same time, has been overshadowed by overacting Johan Ashaari. I don't know why, Johan acting like that? Have a dream about bringing back Oscar trophies or what?
The dressing part is too clean, like just out of the laundry, and it should seem more poor/shabby-looking clothes to cope with the real-life situation. One character that bothers me a lot is Captain Syers. Why on earth should you dye his beard and hair too yellowish color? Don't you refer to any real British with natural blonde? For example, "Mat Salleh Cari Makan." That Capt looks like he suddenly trips into the yellow dye pool.
That one guy, Awang, acting with no emotions at all. If there was an apocalypse happen infront of him, maybe still there like no action at all. If the director put a broom stick imitating/substitute him, still more action than him.
Lastly, if anything mentioned above cannot be undone because of budget or time consumption, please go for a film filter. Refer Ong Bak 3 picture style, how they dim the lighting/saturation and all. Your movie, looks more like a soap opera or drama, not feel like watching a movie. I want to support Malay films, but not like this kind of standard. Director, please refer to the late Mamat Khalid movies on how to dress an actor/actress to look like a real-life kampung person or environment.
3 Stars for afforts.
Andor: Reckoning (2022)
Marvelous and well written story. Good Actors/actress.
Obi Wan Kenobi, disaster. Cringe characters, too cry baby, too family type series/movies. Less and weak actions, because its for kids, of cause . The only good actors in there, are Obi Wan and Anakin. Overall, very weak story.
Book of Bobba Fett, quite good, and almost disaster. Story sometimes good sometimes weak. Actors/actress all ok and decent. Still watchable.
Mandalorian, very good story, because what? Jon Fevraeu are the man behind it. Period. No further questions. Always in my watchlist.
Andor, slow start at first 2 episodes, but this episode give me the reason for waiting to watch the next one. I hope that Andor, give me hope that there are still Disney's Star Wars Series that are watchable.
Only Murders in the Building: I Know Who Did It (2022)
Creative writer, and always avoid the cliches' as much as possible.
Always surprise me, and make use the less talk character in season 1 into main antagonist in season 2. Every episode, i try to predict as always, but always a twist in every ending.
The Orville: Twice in a Lifetime (2022)
Best so far. Like a full feature film.
Best so far. Macfarlene was a genius writer director. Like making a box office qualities movies on every weeks, insane. This shows us, how a good and very quality writer will impact the overall story, as well as the the director that make it happen. Salute to the actors and actress, that make it happen too.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
Better safe important/meaningful character rather than destroyed just for season finale.
Meaningful or deep character like Homelander should not being killed in the first place. Let say, if he really killed this season, what else do we need to expect for the next season? Confirm it will be such a lame ass next season. Thanks to the writters because Soldier Boy and Queen Meave still there for next season too.
The Boys: Glorious Five Year Plan (2022)
Always new surprise and a twist, thats what we called a good writer/director
Every episode have difference kind of surprise and suspense and new unexpected story. Always opposite of what i am thinking of next episode, and always ahead of creativity. Very good writer as well as director, cannot wait for next episodes.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Very bad, and feel sad for Ewan for joining this team of writer and director.
Feel sad for Ewan, I see, he try to gain acceptence among his fans again through out the prequel (episode 1,2,3) in this series. But, this series with this kind of very bad writing, directing, and surrounding with bad actress, Ewan will be ashame for his action choice this time. Same goes to George Clooney when he accept playing Batman in 'Batman and Robin', he curse that film forever.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Marvelous
Deep story telling, hilariously unthinkable comedy, and good editing. One of the movie that I stood there watching without a blink and dont feel bored easily like other films so far. This is kind of movie that any directors should direct, with no cliche comedy, no cliche drama, and to much CGI just to backup bad story telling.
Black Mirror: Nosedive (2016)
Almost good plot, but stupid ending.
Eventhough she have over react in order to gain stars, but in the end, there only show bad result oo her side. What about her fake friend?.Seem unfair, to only 'punished' on her side only, and not her friend that seem to live a life like a fake person.
