It is to believe in a world where a young girl lives in the forest alone without terrible things happening. Who meets only wonderful people and manages to survive only on what the forest gives her.
We have become so used to violence that at any given minute we expect something to exhaust her and hurt her. Also the fact that she chose to make the journey not because of escape bad situation or violent parents is difficult. Why would she do that? Her wonderful journey for me is to return to believing in the goodness of man.
And I find it almost magical in the posibility that this world and forest that bring only the good of mankind exist.
I pray it does.

I saw it and loved it so much that I will see it again in a few months.
The real problem with this movie is that we are so addicted to the Hollywood versions of the historical figures that we expect them to be eloquent super-charismatic warriors with punch lines and flame-cutting speeches.
But Napoleon is nothing like that.
Ridley Scott's Napoleon is the most repulsive mirror and reflection of human reality. The one who allows the megalomaniacs to climb up to control our lives and manage their lives.
Emotionless, a superficial half-beast and even a coward... the scene of the escape from the crowd of representatives of the revolution panting failed and hysterical... ignorant and probably illiterate.
Yes, the key to understanding Ridley Scott's message... what exactly happened there? How the French, a minute after beheading the nobles and taking responsibility for their lives for the first time in their history, gave the keys to a young soldier from Corsica from a family that led the rebellion in France in the War of Independence, who married a woman older than him who openly fornicated with other men when he conquered the world.
And not only did they make him king, they also made him emperor???
100 days of reign are all the greatness of Napoleon.
3 million French soldiers died in Napoleon's wars of conquest.
In 1800 the population of France was 30 million people, we are talking about a tenth of the population.
Throughout the film, the reality is reflected that basically nothing has changed after the revolution. The same debauchery and extravagance of the new privileges. Those who are close to the plate live in luxurious houses and wear silk and those who do not yet eat rats and live in filth.
This is the main point of the film in my opinion... and this is the message Ridley Scott is giving us.
Not the greatness of the Napoleons, Hitlers, Putins and Stalins... Our failure as humans to take responsibility for our lives and shed the need to be controlled sheep whose lives are at the shepherd's mercy.
Grown movie A huge message Thank you Ridley Scott.
