Eddie Redmayne took me as a surprising choice for the role of the Jackal, but from the first episode, it was clear that he's perfect for it. Switching easily from calculating to debonair, he oozes high-end hitman and his performance carries a lot of the film. The locations are spectacular, the story gripping and the tension builds as the series develops, with changes of pace that key you on the edge of your seat.
I do not get all the hate for Lashana Lynch. MI5 are depicted as bureaucracy-ridden über-police, not as suave James Bond types, and she plays the role of the intense MI5 operative well.
This series is highly recommended!

Sometimes when you review a film and see that people have a different opinion, you think that's normal: people do appreciate art like films so very differently. Then, you see films like this, with a very competent cast, a compelling storyline and strong acting and you see so many one starred reviews and the only thing that comes to mind is bigotry.
This is a very good film. It's well acted, it's deeply touching and it's important, showing a highly important part of the history of the second world war. And it deserves so much more than being denigrated by bigots. This film is about a remarkable group of women who succeeded despite misogyny and racism and they're facing yet more bigotry by those voting this a one star. Shame on them.
Don't miss the chance to watch this powerful film because of the rating. It deserves so much more than the 6.5 it has at the moment.

Really well acted and based on a lovely story, One Day is totally captivating. The characters are believable and one quickly connects with them, living through the highs and lows of the circling relationships, always hoping for happiness for Dex and Em.
It's rare that a series captures a story like this so well. The pacing is just right and the choice of actors is spot on.
We were captivated from the first episode and couldn't stop watching until we reached the end. It's one of those stories that leaves you thinking.
Truly special and totally worth the time. You won't regret watching this very special series.
