I have never really played Halo, so I can't comment on the faithfulness of the source material. After reading some of the reviews here it seems that many fans are not too happy about the faithfulness of this adaption.
I watch season 1 on a rather long return flight and I was unaware of it's existence till then. I must say that I really liked it thus far but was surprised to see that it has been discontinued.
As it own thing I really like the story so far. Only one episode into season 2.
The story seems well written, I am invested in what is happening with the Spartan's, the blessed ones and the arch all over this imagined world.
Travelling sometimes felt rushed. Especially the arc with 066 and Kwon on Madrigal.

The movie has everything most critics of the previous instalment ask for. More action.
Everything is still very beautifully done. Life on Arrakis seemed tough but it never felt unrealistic to me. All the creatures and settings seemed real which really helped with the immersion. The scenes on Geadi Prime was done so well.
The performances of the actors were also suburb. Timothee and Zendaya turned in the best performances I have seen them in and Rebecca Fergusson also puts in a Stellar performance. Javiar was my favourite though and he completely sold me on his blind faith.
Hans Zimmer's score is amazing as always.
I don't know what exactly it was, but I couldn't get as immersed in the world this time round as in part one. Maybe the hype of the movie spoiled it for me.
I strongly suggest people watch this in IMAX Laser.

I went in completely blind. Haven't heard anything about the movie until I saw it and decided to go watch it.
We get a little bit of back story of Bob Marley and Rita and his path to be the messenger etc. But there are lot of information I was missing. Someone with much more information on Bob Marley had to tell me a few things like the significance of Rita washing his hair. I just thought that was a loving thing she did, but apparently it is to signify his conversion. I might have missed this, also the country I am currently in might not have allowed that information to stay in the movie. But I felt like there were a few occasions where I was left a bit out of the loop.
Over all, I found this movie to be okay. Our cinema only had about 8 people in it on the first Friday, but as I said, I was unaware that this movie was playing so it might just be that many others wasn't aware either.
