"Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse" (1991) is the best behind the scenes documentary about making of a movie. "Hearts of Darkness" perfectly shows a bit of all of the departments when they were making one of the best films ever made "Apocalypse Now" (1979). More then that there is structured, imerrsive natarative trought the movie, and plently of behind the scenes showing all of the movie stars, writer and director at their job. To say that making of "Apocalypse Now" was a suffer for everyone would be underestimating - its a miracle this movie was made in a first place. Then it would have been a second miracle that the movie turned out to be good , and it was impossible that it turn out to be masterpiece. Against all odds , it did turn out to be one of the best films ever made.
Overall, "Hearts of Darkness" is a very involving, and very informative documentary about an artist, making his craft. Its a great documentary.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" (2006) was and still is a very entertaining movie, and probably my favorite in this franchise. I liked first film almost as "Dead Man's Chest". While plot here is more or less a series of McGuffins that needs to be chased around, its a very entertaining and spectacular film with high energy level. Remember i was watching it in a movie theater and was surprised of how much i enjoyed it. Now rewatching it on 4K UHD at home, again, I'm surprised of how much i enjoyed it. The budget of this film was enormous for its time, and it can be seen on screen. Special effects, while very impressive back in 2006, still look amazing even now, almost 20 years later. Davy Jones and his crew is a thing to behold. They look amazing, especially Davy - special effects are truly special here. The last act with kraken is highly impressive - tons of CGI as well practical stunts - it looks and sounds superbly - no wonder it won an Oscar for best Visual effects. Locations are gorgeous as well cinematography.
Overall, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" is a lot of fun. Its a superb sequel that sets up the next film, but most importantly its just a good 2 h 20 min. Very entertaining film.

"A Real Pain" (2024) is a small indie drama that features two excellent performances by two excellent actors - Jesse Eisenberg & Kieran Culkin, who won the Oscar for this role. At running time 1 h 22 min i found this movie to be perfectly paced, because at its core its a small road movie and character study drama. Locations of the film really stood out and because i live not that far from there and was in similar road trips i liked it. But that said this film isn't particularly great because this kind of character study drama was done many times now, and better. At the end of the movie i didn't really got the Benji Kaplan character. The performance itself is good, but i have already seen it in "Succession". And it was better there. The whole background of WW2 Holocaust is in my opinion more an excuse to implement it. And while there was an interesting idea with the whole Real Pain aspect - they barely touched it and didn't really explore it more.
Overall, "A Real Pain" isn't going to blow you away, even if you are a character study movie fan. Its kind of been there, done that - but as a 1 h 22 min film its pretty descent to see it once.
