In this episode, the Dr Santos character is the perfect "I LOVE TO HATE HER, CHARACTER". There are things she says and does that makes you question humanity and just plain decency. I credit the writing and the actor's ability. Overall, this is nothing but ER and 24 on steroids, which is a good thing. They clearly can push the edge further than any ABC/Fox show can, and it makes this such a more powerful show. No spoilers, but the Santos character is so self-serving and self-absorbed that you can't help, but hate everything she does and represents. You can see her promise as a doctor, but the see the eventual incident coming that she will hit a wall when a patient dies on her, due to her over-confidence. I really like the format that each episode follows the actual hour the doctors are living through.
Ok, the series starts off great, and Kaitlin Olson puts forth a solid performance. The series is very much like the TBS series Monk, where a borderline Asperger person helps the police solve crimes. Again, the series is solid so far, but not as quirky or fun to watch as Monk, but is a fun watch.
Episode 3 is where it really derails, and I am hoping episode 4 really improves. In this episode, she is overly self-righteous and obstructive to a case. She is taking evidence from the police station, she is handling evidence and contaminating it. Tactics that would invalidate a case. REPERCUSSIONS? Zero.... It is almost distracting how annoying she is in this episode.
She shows little to no evidence of self-awareness or contrition of her actions. Again, hoping it improves with Episode 4.

Ok, I really like the premise of this show, very much like a "Monk" type series. This was an episode where, as a viewer, you have to really suspend disbelief, and that is why I gave it 3 stars. Like how every one of these type of shows allow civilians to handle crime scene evidence. This is episode was particularly bad. Where she touches and handles everything in the crime scene. Like no one is worried about contaminating a crime scene.
It had it bright moments, but the errors and goofs make are so off-putting. For example, a man falls 3 stories on top of a car and has no cuts and bruises; no broken bones, but spine injuries. I guess the whole criminal with the golden heart thing doesn't work here.
