Marin County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday arrested two teenagers for allegedly robbing three people at gunpoint in Marin City.
The robbery was reported around 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 on the 600 block of Drake Avenue. Sheriff’s Lt. Brennan Collins said two adults and one juvenile were robbed in the incident.
Investigators learned that the victims visited the scene to sell clothing to two potential customers. The parties contacted each other on social media.
Collins said that the suspects robbed the victims when they arrived at the meeting site. One suspect allegedly fired a shot into the air when the victims tried to retrieve their items.
Detectives later identified two suspects and served search warrants in Marin City and San Rafael. Authorities also located clothing and a firearm. Investigators are determining if the items are linked to the robbery, Collins said.
The suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy. One suspect was also arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. Both suspects were booked into juvenile hall. The sheriff’s office declined to release the suspects’ names since they are minors.
